No Passengers Allowed

03/17/2024 at 5:30pm EDT

Good evening and welcome to all. Both teams are playing back to back tonight, so the Red Wings have to keep the momentum going. The entire fan base knows every game is a must win. It’s not going to be a walk in the park by any means, so, no passengers allowed.

It’s the Red Wings vs the Penguins. The puck is set to drop around 6:00 PM and will be broadcast on Bally Sports Detroit, and on the Red Wings Radio Network 97.1 (The Ticket in Detroit) for your listening pleasure. Also available on NHLN, SN-PIT, and SPOTRSNET+.

Make It Go Your Way

03/16/2024 at 12:00pm EDT

Good day and welcome to everyone. Red Wings fans do not want to hear one more player, coach, or anyone connected to this team say, “It’s just not going our way.” Stop with this nonsense, and make it go your way, because that’s what winners do. Losers make excuses.

The projected lineup has Reimer in goal, and, Berggren as scratched.

It’s the Sabers vs the Red Wings. The puck is set to drop around 12:30 ET and will be broadcast on Bally Sports Detroit, and on the Red Wings Radio Network 97.1 (The Ticket in Detroit) for your listening pleasure. Also available on NHLN, MSG-B, and SPORTSNET+.

Until The Wings Win One

03/14/2024 at 6:30pm EDT

Good evening and welcome to all. As far as the Red Wings go, it’s all been said this week in various media. With that in mind, there is nothing new to say until the Wings win one, or, lose another.

Sprong is out. Czarnik is in. As of 4:01 PM I’m not sure who’s starting in net. Lyon is listed as the projected starter.

It’s the Coyotes vs the Red Wings. The puck is set to drop around 7:00 PM and will be broadcast on Bally Sports Detroit, and on the Red Wings Radio Network 97.1 (The Ticket in Detroit) for your listening pleasure. Also available on ESPN+/NHLPP, SCRIPPS, and SPORTSNET+.

Put Up Or Shut Up

03/12/2024 at 6:30pm EDT

Good evening and welcome to all. There’s no good way to spin anything that’s been happening on the ice with this Red Wings team. Losers of their last five game, it’s time to put up, or shut up. Yes, sometimes you aren’t so lucky, that’s when you have to make your own good luck, decisions, choices. That’s how winners play.

Derek Lalonde said, “ I wouldn’t say (Tuesday) is a must-win, it’s a must-play-well.”

Really? I don’t think so. Where is the urgency? With only eighteen games(tonight included) remaining in the regular season, it seems to me that every single game has to be approached as a must win. Just saying….

Lyon has the net tonight, Walman is back, Burgers is in as well.

It’s the Red Wings vs the Sabers. The puck is set to drop at around 7:00 PM and will be broadcast on Bally Sports Detroit, and on the Red Wings Radio Network 97.1(The Ticket in Detroit) for your listening pleasure. Also available on ESPN+/NHLPP, MSG-B, and SPORTSNET+.

Earn Your Pay

03/09/2024 at 9:30pm EST

Good evening and welcome to all. Last night’s game was an utter disgrace. It used to be all about working hard towards becoming successful, then, and only then, the payoff. Now it seem it’s only about the payoff. This Red Wings team absolutely does not try their hardest every game. Only real winners do. You cannot buy heart, or, pride, and the fans deserve some semblance of a consistent effort every single game for crying out loud. I may as well add, they play as soft as marshmallows. Someone had to say it.

The bottom line, every player on this team leaves the ice with millions, win, lose, or draw. I do not begrudge them one cent, as long as they work for it. Respect your fans. Earn your pay.

Reimer has the net tonight, Berggren is in.

It’s the Red Wings vs the Knights. The puck is set to drop around 10:00 PM and will be broadcast on Bally Sports Detroit, and on the Red Wings Radio Network 97.1 (The Ticket in Detroit) for your listening pleasure. Also available on ESPN+/NHLPP, SCRIPPS, and SPORTSNET+.

Hang Tight

03/08/2024 at 8:30pm EST

Good evening and welcome to all. I would like to say thank you to everyone who stayed until the bitter end last game. I hope the Red Wings have learned that there is no such thing as an easy win. Two points the hard way. Time to hang tight, 19.

It’s the Red Wings vs the Coyotes. The puck is set to drop around 9:00 PM and will be broadcast on Bally Sports Detroit, and on the Red Wings Radio Network 97.1 (The Ticket in Detroit). Also available on ESPN+/NHLPP, SCRIPPS, and SPORTSNET+.

The Pressure Is On

03/06/2024 at 9:00pm EST

Good evening and welcome to everyone. The Red Wings are coming into tonight’s game having been taught a huge lesson in real time, courtesy of the Panthers. How quick to turn this around? However long it takes to learn from one’s mistakes. The pressure is on, so let’s just say, we all hope lesson learned.

Lyon is in net tonight, Kostin is slotted in, Larkin is out.

It’s the Red Wings vs the Avalanche. The puck is set to drop around 9:30 ET and will be broadcast on TNT, and on the Red Wings Radio Network 97.1(The Ticket in Detroit) for your listening pleasure. Also available on MAX, ALT, and SPORTSNET+.

Points, Points, Points

03/02/2024 at 2:30pm EST

Good day and welcome to everyone. As suggested above it’s all about piling up the points, or as Mickey would say, “Making hay while the sun shines.” Since it’s a matinee game, I think it’s appropriate to quote him. The Panthers are a Divisional opponent which comes with a bit more urgency, because the Eastern Conference is so tight. No need to blather on.

Lyon has the net today. No other changes to the lineup have been announced.

It’s the Panthers vs the Red Wings. The puck is set to drop around 3:00 PM and will be broadcast on ABC and ESPN+, and on the Red Wings Radio Network 97.1(The Ticket in Detroit) for your listening pleasure. Also available on SPORTSNET+.

Just Keep It Going

02/29/2024 at 6:30pm EST

Good evening and welcome to everyone. The Red Wings came to play the other night, and it really payed off. Each player is contributing right now, and, that bodes well for everyone. Especially the fans. Just keep going at it against the Islanders, who are no slouches themselves. They’re in the Wild Card race just like we all are, and in the Eastern Conference, nothing is certain until the last day of the season. Every single game is important.

Expect the Islanders to show up big time tonight because, first and foremost it’s all about the points, and, former longtime Red Wings nemesis Patrick Roy is behind the bench now, and I’m sure any win against the Wings will always be a feather in his cap. This should be a real good game for both fan bases.

Lyon has the net tonight. No changes to the lineup have been announced.

It’s the Islanders vs the Red Wings. The puck is set to drop around 7:00 PM and will be broadcast on Bally Sports Detroit, and on the Red Wings Radio Network 97.1(The Ticket in Detroit)for your listening pleasure. Also available on ESPN+/NHLPP, MSGSN, and SPORTSNET+.

No Margin For Error

02/27/2024 at 6:30pm EST

Good evening and welcome to all. The Red Wings are coming into tonight’s game off a lucky win in my book. Not to downplay the dramatic fashion in which Kaner scored the game winning goal once again in overtime, but, let’s face it, the Wings were terrible for the first fifty-five minutes of that game. They do not have that luxury tonight. Many thanks to James Reimer for getting us into overtime, and then some.

The Capitals are coming in hot after a win last night. The Wings had better be well prepared, as the Caps are playing to stay within striking distance of a Wild Card spot. There is really no margin for error in the Eastern Conference, in either division.

Lyon has the net tonight. No other changes to the lineup have been announced.

It’s the Capitals vs the Red Wings. The puck is set to drop around 7:00 PM ET and will be broadcast on Bally Sports Detroit and on the Red Wings Radio Network 97.1(The Ticket in Detroit) for your listening pleasure. Also a available on ESPN+/NHLPP, MNMT2, and SPORTSNET+.

Better Be Ready

02/25/2024 at 5:30pm EST

Good evening and welcome to all. The Red Wings played a good game yesterday, and, now the quick turnaround time to face the Blackhawks. No matter their(Hawks) record, this team is not going to just lay down. The Wings better be ready for tonight’s tilt. Kaner returns to Chicago for the first time since leaving, and Cheli is having his #7 retired tonight.

Reimer is supposed have the net tonight, but, that’s subject to change. No other lineup changes that I’m aware of.

It’s the Red Wings vs the Blackhawks in an Original Six matchup. The puck is set to drop around 6:00 PM ET and will be broadcast on Bally Sports Detroit, NHL Network, and on the Red Wings Radio Network 97.1 (The Ticket in Detroit)for your listening pleasure. Also available on NBCSCH and SPORTSNET+.

Congratulations to Cheli. A player that we all really enjoyed, respected, and appreciated.

Take Nothing For Granted

02/24/2024 at 11:30am EST

Good day and welcome to all. The Wings are coming into today’s tilt probably feeling good about their performance of late, and confidence is building. Just as long as they don’t forget how hard it’s been to keep up the pace. Take nothing for granted, and, never underestimate your opponent. Enough said.

Lyon has the net again. As of 9:43 AM no changes to the rest of the lineup.

It’s the Blues vs the Red Wings. The puck is set to drop around 12:00 PM ET and will be broadcast on ABC and ESPN+, and on the Red Wings Radio Network 97.1(The Ticket in Detroit) for your listening pleasure. Also available on SPORTSNET+.

Just Hope That It Works

02/22/2024 at 6:30pm EST

Good evening and welcome to all. The Wings are back home after a long four game Northwestern swing which yielded four points. The whole trip could have went South real fast, but for some fantastic goaltending from James Reimer(absolutely stole the game)and Alex Lyon(rock steady). Yes, the Wings scored plenty, but, Lalonde had to switch up/do a little blender so to speak, with the line combos. I don’t know what he has in mind tonight, let’s just hope that it works.

Lyon has the net tonight. I’m not sure who is sitting.

It’s the Avalanche vs the Red Wings. The puck is set to drop around 7:00 PM ET and will be broadcast on Bally Sports Detroit, and on the Red Wings Radio Network 97.1 (The Ticket in Detroit) for your listening pleasure. Also available on ESPN+/NHLPP, ALT2, and SPORTSNET+.

Finish On A High Note

02/19/2024 at 3:00pm EST

Good day once again, and welcome to all. The Red Wings know finishing this road trip on a high note is definitely necessary. The Wings have got to play better than they did the other night. They did win, but, Reimer was a huge reason they won. Yes, five goals were wonderful, but, that’s not going to happen every game. Let’s get on with it.

Lyon is the starter today. Kostin and Holl are sitting.

It’s the Red Wings vs the Kraken. The puck is set to drop around 3:30 PM ET and will be broadcast on ESPN, and on Red Wings Radio 97.1 (The Ticket in Detroit) for your listening pleasure. Also available on SPORTSNET+.

Just Get It Done

02/17/2024 at 3:30pm EST

Good day and welcome to all. Well, what’s left to say? The Wings have to get back to their winning ways. That starts with not spotting the Flames a couple of goals and then playing catch up for the rest of the game, and blah, blah, blah… They know, we know. Just get it done.

Reimer has the net today, Fabbri is back, which is remarkable considering he just had a baby last week. A little levity can’t hurt, eh?

Make Some Hay

02/15/2024 at 9:30pm EST

Good evening and welcome to everyone. The Red Wings have their work cut out for them tonight after being brought back down to Earth like the rest of us after a teachable sixty minutes. They are still a work in progress, as they are learning to run with the big dogs so to speak. Hopefully lesson learned, because the Canucks are not going to be an easy get by any means, and, the Wings have to make some hay whenever possible.

Lyon has the net tonight, Kostin is in for Fabbri(Congrats!).

It’s the Red Wings vs the Canucks. The puck is set to drop around 10:00 PM ET and will be broadcast on Bally Sports Detroit, and on the Red Wings Radio Network 97.1(The Ticket in Detroit) for your listening pleasure. Also available on ESPN+/NHLPP, SPORTSNET+, and TVAS.

Road Trip

02/13/2024 at 8:30pm EST

Good evening and welcome to all. The Red Wings begin their road trip in Edmonton tonight, and, it’s going to be interesting to say the least as the Wings have much to prove to themselves. Yes, it’s been heading in the right direction. Yes, the Wings have bested some very good opponents, but, McDavid is the whole package. He also has some of the best players in the league to back him up. This game is important as it is worth two points, and, hopefully will help to continue to build confidence for the Wings going forward. Enough said.

Lyon is expected to start, but, Husso has been rumored to start. Kostin is in for Fabbri. Holl is sitting.

Update; Husso starts.

It’s the Red Wings vs the Oilers. The puck is set to drop around 9:00 PM ET and will be broadcast on Bally Sports Detroit Extra, and on the Red Wings Radio Network 97.1 (The Ticket in Detroit) for your listening pleasure. Also available on ESPN+/NHLPP and SPORTSNET+.

We’re Back

02/10/2024 at 12:30pm EST

Good day, and, welcome back to one and all. It’s been a long break for the Red Wings, and, for the 19 as well, so let’s get ready for what should be an exciting contest. The Canucks are riding high atop the standings right now, and are coming in today angry, which means the Wings have to stick with what has been working for them. Every single game is important, as the Red Wings want to continue to gain ground in an extremely competitive, and tightly contested division.

Lyon has the net, and, Kaner and Chiarot are both ready to slot back into the lineup. As of 11:42 AM I’m not sure who’s sitting, if anyone.

It’s the Canucks vs the Red Wings. The puck is set to drop around 1:00 PM ET and will be broadcast on Bally Sports Detroit, and on the Red Wings Radio Network 97.1 (The Ticket in Detroit)for your listening pleasure. Also available on ESPN+/NHLPP and SPORTSNET+.

A Message To Paul

02/07/2024 at 6:00pm EST

Hi Paul,

I was a bit surprised the other day when you posted what is going on. The last 16 years have gone by so quickly. You have been fortunate to be able to call the shots and follow your passion, and, you made all of this happen, which takes courage and conviction. KK has reached so many people everywhere, even internationally. No small feat to achieve.

I’m thankful to you for sticking with A2Y. It’s fun, it’s the only online activity I engage in for the most part. But, it keeps me sharp, and on my toes, which is a good thing. Mostly, it is great fun. The wealth of information available at Kuklas Korner is second to none, but, the times they are a changing. It’s natural. Whatever your decision is, it should be whatever is in your best interest. I’ll be here until you turn the lights off.

Most Sincerely,

Kate

Paul responded;

Thanks so much Kate, you are going to make me cry.
I plan on keeping KK/A2Y alive, I just need some financial assistance and I am halfway there.
Once my goal is hopefully reached I can take a breath then look forward instead of getting little sleep and hoping for the best.
Worst scenario, place is shuttered after the SCF, best scenario, move forward once again with joy on my face,
Paul

Settle It On The Scoreboard

01/31/2024 at 6:30pm EST

Good evening and welcome to all. The Red Wings know what needs to happen tonight when they take on the Senators. They have to hang tough, remain disciplined, focused, don’t back down. All the while keeping in mind not to make it a grudge match. Settle it on the scoreboard.

Lyon has the net tonight, no Kaner or Chiarot until after the break.

Good evening and welcome to everyone. The Red Wings are coming into tonight’s game following a solid win the other night, where everyone came to play. Wings fans would like more of the same, please. The Wings will need the same mindset tonight as they face off against the Knights, the current Cup champs. Enough said.

Lyon has the net, Kaner is out, Chiarot won’t return until after the break, defenseman Wyatt Newpower has been call up from GR.

A Lot To Be Desired

01/25/2024 at 6:30pm EST

Good evening and welcome to all. The Red Wings left a lot to be desired the other night. Albeit it was one really bad period, but, enough is enough. A bad habit of softening up plagues the Wings anytime they believe they have a perceived edge. Stop it right now. There is no edge as the game changes so fast on the fly, and, the better teams/opponents have already figured out any weakness in order to exploit it. The Flyers are in town tonight, and, this is another game the Wings have to win.

Lyon is in the net tonight, Compher looks to be in, Chiarot is out, Kaner is out.

It’s the Flyers vs the Red Wings. The puck drops around 7:00 PM and will be broadcast on Bally Sports Detroit, and on the Red Wings Radio Network 97.1 (The Ticket in Detroit) for your listening pleasure. Also available on ESPN+/NHLPP, NBCSP, and SPORTSNET+.

Every Game Is Important

01/23/2024 at 6:30pm EST

Good evening and welcome to everyone. The Red Wings came to play the other night and it paid off. We’d like more of the same tonight. Relentless forechecking, hard on the puck, finishing checks. Every game is important, as the Wings cannot count on other divisional teams losing in order to stay above the fray. We only do that by winning, a tall order with no alternative.

Lyon has the net tonight, Chiarot is day to day, Kaner is still out.

It’s the Stars vs the Red Wings. The puck is set to drop around 7:00 PM and will be broadcast on Bally Sports Detroit, and on the Red Wings Radio Network 97.1 (The Ticket in Detroit) for your listening pleasure. Also available on ESPN+/NHLPP, BSSW, and SPORTSNET+.

Let’s Get Er’ Done

01/19/2024 at 6:12pm EST

Good evening and welcome to everyone. The Red Wings have managed their bench very well during this road trip. As successful as it’s been going so far, the Wings will definitely need to use the lessons learned in playing against this suffocating, hard forechecking Canes team. Tonight will be the toughest, and, may well be the best game of this trip. Let’s get er’ done.

Lyon has the net tonight, Walman TBD(no word as of 1:39 PM), Kaner is out.

Wings fans will be treated to a special early pregame show at 6:00PM on Bally Sports Detroit featuring Ozzie’s awesome backyard ice rink, and, Mickey along with special guests.
