04/16/2024 at 6:30pm EDT

Good evening and welcome to all. It’s game #82 with outcomes yet to be decided, and, as long as the Red Wings take care of their own game, then the rest doesn’t matter. The team, and the fans, are well aware that it’s all or nothing.

Reimer is in goal tonight. No other changes to the lineup have been announced.

It’s the Red Wings vs the Canadians in an Original Six matchup. Burning With Optimism’s Flame

04/11/2024 at 6:30pm EDT

Good evening and welcome to all. Here we are almost down to the wire, and the Red Wings are still in the mix. I’m an optimist and a realist. The optimist sees the numbers still bear out the possible playoff appearance. The realist see the numbers which show the same conclusion. Yeah it’s a stretch, but I’m all in, burning with optimism’s flame.

Lyon has the net tonight. No Rasmussen(injury), no Copp(injury). Walman seem to be sitting. No other changes to the lineup have been announced as of 2:45 PM.

Another Must Win

04/07/2024 at 12:30pm EDT

Good day and welcome to all. As we all know, today’s game, like every game for at least the past three weeks have been must wins. Too bad for the fans that the brain trust behind the benches just haven’t been able to drill that home.

Lalonde said. “It still feels like if we just win, we can control our own destiny.

Ya think?

The Final Stretch

04/05/2024 at 6:30pm EDT

Good evening and welcome to all. The Wings are coming into tonight’s game after a hard fought win against the Lightning, but, that was four days ago, and all 19 of us expect to see an even better game/effort tonight. There’s not much else to say about tonight’s game against the Rangers, except that it is an absolute must win if the Red Wings want to stay in it down the final stretch.

Lyon is in goal. Sprong is in. Rasmussen is out(upper body), Maatta is a healthy scratch. No other changes to the lineup have been announced.

Trying To Stay Positive

04/01/2024 at 6:30pm EDT

Good evening and welcome to everyone. We’re all trying to stay positive here, but, the Red Wings do not make it easy. Losing their last four games in a row doesn’t exactly instill confidence. Counting on other teams to lose is certainly not an option. Winning is the only way.

Lyon is in the net tonight. Walman is back as well. Maatta is out. No other changes to the lineup have been announced.

Mathematically…

03/28/2024 at 7:00pm EDT

Good evening and welcome to all. The Red Wings managed to blow another yet another two important points, but, are still in contention mathematically. Yes, yes, I know we weren’t told there would be any math, and realistically we all know this will go down to the wire. Maybe when all is said and done, the Wings will squeeze into that last Wild Card spot. To paraphrase George Carlin, “The last winner.”

Reimer has the net tonight. No other changes to the lineup have been announced as of 1:00 PM.

03/26/2024 at 6:30pm EDT

Good evening and welcome to all. The Red Wings played a good game against the Preds but still lost, so no points, and another moral victory just won’t do. The Wings and their fans know what’s at stake here tonight. No need to say anymore.

Make Everyone Accountable

03/23/2024 at 4:30pm EDT

Good day and welcome to all. Dylan Larkin was back in the lineup on Thursday against the Islanders, everyone came to play, and the Red Wings got the win. Hopefully Larkin’s return will keep the fires burning, and make everyone accountable. Now, get out there today and take two more points. Yes, it’s another must win. Every single game is.

Lyon has the net today. Walman is still listed as day to day. Any other changes to the lineup haven’t been announced as of 2:00 PM.

Send Them Packing

03/21/2024 at 6:30pm EDT

Good evening and welcome to all. The Red Wings understand that tonight’s game against the Islanders is a must win situation, as the playoffs are on the line for both teams. The Wings have to come out tough and dish it out all game long. Send them packing.

A little levity regarding Mo; “and his hair was perfect.”-Warren Zevon

Reimer has the net. Larkin is a game time decision. Walman is listed as DTD.

What’s Next?

03/19/2024 at 6:30pm EDT

Good evening and welcome to all. It’s been quite the awful month for Red Wings fans as we all have watched in disbelief while the Wings have played themselves out of the Wild Card spot, for now. We’re all angry about this turn of events, but, fans have no control over what happens next. You never know what’s coming.

Reimer is the projected starter tonight. Edvinsson is in, Walman is out(lower body), Rasmussen is a game time decision. Since there are other players dealing with illnesses, the Red Wings won’t decide their final lineup until warmups.

Make It Go Your Way

03/16/2024 at 12:00pm EDT

Good day and welcome to everyone. Red Wings fans do not want to hear one more player, coach, or anyone connected to this team say, “It’s just not going our way.” Stop with this nonsense, and make it go your way, because that’s what winners do. Losers make excuses.

The projected lineup has Reimer in goal, and, Berggren as scratched.

Until The Wings Win One

03/14/2024 at 6:30pm EDT

Good evening and welcome to all. As far as the Red Wings go, it’s all been said this week in various media. With that in mind, there is nothing new to say until the Wings win one, or, lose another.

Sprong is out. Czarnik is in. As of 4:01 PM I’m not sure who’s starting in net. Lyon is listed as the projected starter.

It’s the Coyotes vs the Red Wings. The puck is set to drop around 7:00 PM and will be broadcast on Bally Sports Detroit, and on the Red Wings Radio Network 97.1 (The Ticket in Detroit) for your listening pleasure. Also available on ESPN+/NHLPP, SCRIPPS, and SPORTSNET+.

Put Up Or Shut Up

03/12/2024 at 6:30pm EDT

Good evening and welcome to all. There’s no good way to spin anything that’s been happening on the ice with this Red Wings team. Losers of their last five game, it’s time to put up, or shut up. Yes, sometimes you aren’t so lucky, that’s when you have to make your own good luck, decisions, choices. That’s how winners play.

Derek Lalonde said, “ I wouldn’t say (Tuesday) is a must-win, it’s a must-play-well.”

Really? I don’t think so. Where is the urgency? With only eighteen games(tonight included) remaining in the regular season, it seems to me that every single game has to be approached as a must win. Just saying….

Lyon has the net tonight, Walman is back, Burgers is in as well.

It’s the Red Wings vs the Sabers. The puck is set to drop at around 7:00 PM and will be broadcast on Bally Sports Detroit, and on the Red Wings Radio Network 97.1(The Ticket in Detroit) for your listening pleasure. Also available on ESPN+/NHLPP, MSG-B, and SPORTSNET+.

Earn Your Pay

03/09/2024 at 9:30pm EST

Good evening and welcome to all. Last night’s game was an utter disgrace. It used to be all about working hard towards becoming successful, then, and only then, the payoff. Now it seem it’s only about the payoff. This Red Wings team absolutely does not try their hardest every game. Only real winners do. You cannot buy heart, or, pride, and the fans deserve some semblance of a consistent effort every single game for crying out loud. I may as well add, they play as soft as marshmallows. Someone had to say it.

The bottom line, every player on this team leaves the ice with millions, win, lose, or draw. I do not begrudge them one cent, as long as they work for it. Respect your fans. Earn your pay.

Reimer has the net tonight, Berggren is in.

The Pressure Is On

Good evening and welcome to everyone. The Red Wings are coming into tonight’s game having been taught a huge lesson in real time, courtesy of the Panthers. How quick to turn this around? However long it takes to learn from one’s mistakes. The pressure is on, so let’s just say, we all hope lesson learned.

Points, Points, Points

03/02/2024 at 2:30pm EST

Good day and welcome to everyone. As suggested above it’s all about piling up the points, or as Mickey would say, “Making hay while the sun shines.” Since it’s a matinee game, I think it’s appropriate to quote him. The Panthers are a Divisional opponent which comes with a bit more urgency, because the Eastern Conference is so tight. No need to blather on.

Lyon has the net today. No other changes to the lineup have been announced.

Just Keep It Going

02/29/2024 at 6:30pm EST

Good evening and welcome to everyone. The Red Wings came to play the other night, and it really payed off. Each player is contributing right now, and, that bodes well for everyone. Especially the fans. Just keep going at it against the Islanders, who are no slouches themselves. They’re in the Wild Card race just like we all are, and in the Eastern Conference, nothing is certain until the last day of the season. Every single game is important.

Expect the Islanders to show up big time tonight because, first and foremost it’s all about the points, and, former longtime Red Wings nemesis Patrick Roy is behind the bench now, and I’m sure any win against the Wings will always be a feather in his cap. This should be a real good game for both fan bases.

Lyon has the net tonight. No changes to the lineup have been announced.

No Margin For Error

02/27/2024 at 6:30pm EST

Good evening and welcome to all. The Red Wings are coming into tonight’s game off a lucky win in my book. Not to downplay the dramatic fashion in which Kaner scored the game winning goal once again in overtime, but, let’s face it, the Wings were terrible for the first fifty-five minutes of that game. They do not have that luxury tonight. Many thanks to James Reimer for getting us into overtime, and then some.

The Capitals are coming in hot after a win last night. The Wings had better be well prepared, as the Caps are playing to stay within striking distance of a Wild Card spot. There is really no margin for error in the Eastern Conference, in either division.

Lyon has the net tonight. No other changes to the lineup have been announced.

It’s the Capitals vs the Red Wings. The puck is set to drop around 7:00 PM ET and will be broadcast on Bally Sports Detroit and on the Red Wings Radio Network 97.1(The Ticket in Detroit) for your listening pleasure. Also a available on ESPN+/NHLPP, MNMT2, and SPORTSNET+.
