If Sprong is a healthy scratch for two consecutive, important games it tells me that it's a good bet he won't be re-signed in the off season. If he's injured, that's a different matter.
Maybe another reason why he has played on so many different teams in his career.
It's puzzling isn't it.
Someone posted a video breakdown of Sprongs game a week or so ago around here. It was a good breakdown of his offensive skills and his defensive deficiencies and how its the kind of thing thats plagued him wherever hes stopped.
I missed that. He's -4 in plus/minus for the season. Not great but hardly anywhere near worst on the team.

Was curious about DeBrincats production and did a quick stats check. Kane has 16 goals. DeBrincat has assisted on 10 of those 16. Since Kane entered the lineup, DeBrincat has scored 10 goals. Kane has assisted on 6 of those 10. It seems DeBrincats production is closely tied to Kanes production.
Petry and big Ed did not look too good oot there together. Need a switch somewheres.

The dreaded goalie yank is rapidly approaching.
Story of the game at this point, Wings missing shots or shooting the puck into the goalie. I remember some years ago the Wings complained about not getting the puck past the goaltender. The captain spoke up, you have to pick your spot, not shoot it into the goalie and hope it leaks through.
Who knew Kane would read that so quickly.
I think theyre really gripping the stick. Some of these chances should have been put in the net.
