With Paul prepping for the colonoscopy, the Wings cannot waste this opportunity against Phoenix. Our goalie needs to make big saves, even if he has to stand on a stool and Phoenix is abutting the net. However, the Wings offense has not been flush with scoring opportunities, so an explosive end to this game is hoped for. Concentrating on defense may cramp their style, but is desperately needed. The view from deep inside suggested a shake up, so Czarnik is being quickly and deeply inserted, pushed in and will probe for a favorable result.
If you dont have the intestinal fortitude for this procedure tonight, dont watch.

Just as Kane said about the Wings players, if youre not agitated by the last six games something is wrong. However look at the long haul, IF they can stop on a dime and turn this around there is all kinds of time to stake out their position in the playoffs, with more than 30 points available there are four teams, maybe add Buffalo and Washington and who knows, playing musical chairs for three spots.
They cant go into the last dozen games having to make up a lot of points, so they need to start winning now. But look, theyre jammed up with the opportunity to make a run for it, as good a chance as anyone.

I feel like every trip into the Detroit zone is going to end up in the back of our net, and the only way Detroit can score a goal is some some fluke bounce. This is how I used to feel in the Blashill years, but havent had that feeling this year until now.
i've seen some other posts about lalonde maybe being on the hot seat after the season, and...i dunno. he's finally started sitting guys he views as playing bad D, but the problem is you have to ice 20 skaters, and at least 10 of these guys deserve to sit.
i just don't understand how this team, with its back against the wall, is playing this uninspired and badly. this is your season, your job, your career on the line. what the hell? missed passes, soft serv defense, you name it.

Seven in a row. In many ways, it may be better this way in that Yzerman changes this roster. Though the Vets have not helped, nothing else to do.
Glad Yzerman has not extended any FAs. And I am not sure who he should. Many of them have failed including Kane and Perron.

I was flipping between the two games on local TV here in NY....Buffalo was very good tonight, and if not for Sorokin - would have won 15-0 Isles O was non-existent tonight.

Buffalo is on a roll. If they lost tonight - it might have been game, set, match for their season and they played like it was all on the line.
