The Wings play the Kraken tonight, and, they are probably feeling a lot better about their situation having won in Vancouver two nights ago. That being said, they are facing a Kraken team that lost three nights ago, and, are sitting in last place in their Division.

That makes for great uncertainty tonight among Wings fans. There are no expectations for tonight's game. Just hoping for the best as usual.

Good evening to all. It's the late night edition of Red Wings hockey, and, I'm hoping maybe 19 of us are up for it. Considering the last six games though, we'll probably all be sleeping before this one is over.

Tonight we're in Edmonton so, with the 9:00 PM start, I'm not/I am expecting the Wings to "start on time?" It's that all to familiar phrase that we've heard over, and over, and over again, and it's getting on my last nerve. Just like "compete level", or my personal favorite, "the process."

If you're still going to stay up for the game, thank you for you support. It's worth noting that DST could be playing havoc with your circadian rhythms making it seem like it's easier to stay up later, or, you're a true Wingaholic. No known cure.....

The Wings are back at it tonight in Calgary after that wild game against Minnesota. That game had everything. Scoring, fighting, and fighting. The Flames burnt us last time out, so, I'm expecting something tonight from the Wings.

Of course one bright spot is Jakub Vrana. He's looked mighty good since his return, scoring three goals in his first two games. Also, Marc Staal is playing in game #1000 tonight. A huge milestone for any athlete.
Maybe they can channel some of the bad feelings that must be left over from the other night into something positive. Here's hoping.......

Greetings Wingaholics. That is the appropriate term for anyone that is watching this or any Wings games nowadays. Tonight the Wild are in town so I'm not expecting much from the Wings at all.

The continued drubbings by teams both good and bad, are making games harder and harder to watch. Sure, some of this is knee jerking on my part, but, losing to the Coyotes in a blowout? Come on. Also, how many times can any of us say we've watched any game with a double goalie switch, twice in the same week?

There is plenty of blame to go around, but, the one thing that remains the same is the coach, and it seems like most opponents have him all figured out.

Something has to change.Unfortunately for us, it's most likely more of the same for 25 more games.

There are a couple of things to talk about, albeit briefly. Jakub Vrana is back in the lineup tonight which will make a difference, hopefully sooner rather than later. The Wings claimed Olli Juolevi, a 23 year old D-man off waivers from the Panthers on Sunday,(not sure if he's in the lineup for tonight) and DDK has cleared waivers.

Looking forward is what is indicated, and, trusting in the Yzerplan. Busy day for me, so that's about it.

I will start off with, it could have been worse. Losing a game is never any fun, but, the Wings kept it as close as they could, as far as going toe to toe with the Lightning throughout the entire game. Although the SOG would seem to indicate otherwise,( thank heavens for Nedeljkovic) I thought the Wings did okay. Which really means, it wasn't a blowout.

Tonight the Panthers are on deck just waiting to pounce, so things could get ugly real quick. Hope for the best, etc.......

The Wings face off against the Lightning tonight in what should be an exciting game for all. The team is coming in hot after playing the Canes in one of the better games they've played all season. The Wings, led by Dylan Larkin, never gave up,and came back with a great win against a very good team. Plus, watching our league leading rookies, Mo Seider and Lucas Raymond is never a waste of time as they both continue to impress hockey fans everywhere.

I'm thinking all 19 of us should be ready for a good, solid game tonight. I'm all in....

Saying that the Wings started their last game horribly would be an understatement. They were totally dominated, embarrassed, and looked like each player took a couple of sleeping pills in the dressing room before the game. At least they did show up on Saturday, but not until the third period.

It was a bizarre game, to say the least, but seven goals were scored, and, it did make for an entertaining ending, almost. One can only hope there were lessons learned, and, these skating to stand still first periods will cease. Give the fans a reason to stick around. Eh?

Hello to the 19 and anyone else that happens by. This is the place where maybe for a few hours we can take a break from reality, and immerse ourselves in a fantasy that the Wings actually show up tonight and play the Leafs for a full sixty minutes.

Whatever the outcome, at least it's a much needed distraction from the events of this past week.

Welcome back 19. It's been a nice little break from hockey, and, what better way to get back into action than a game against the Avs. They are a very good team this season. They shamed the Wings in their last meeting, so, hopefully this group remembers, and, does not lay down. As of this writing, D-Boss is a game time decision, and, MacKinnon is out.

It's hard to believe that twenty-six years have passed since the Wings-Avs rivalry was the best in all of sports. Bar none. It's also pretty cool that the two former Captains of those storied teams, Steve Yzerman, and, Joe Sakic, are now once again in charge of their clubs at the GM level. I guess you could say we've come full circle.

The Wings face off tonight against the Rangers after a disappointing loss in Minnesota. It could have been worse, but, the Wings did try to make a game of it in spite of the lopsided score. They still managed to score four goals, and didn't just lay down. That is a good enough reason to come back for more.

The Rangers are playing well right now, and, it would be great if the Wings can upset the apple cart, so to speak.

First off, the Smith Brothers are playing tonight. I'm looking forward to this because it's not very often these kind of things happen. I'm really hoping for a good showing from the two of them.

Next, the Wings are coming into tonight having won two straight. I don't care that it was against the Flyers. A win is a win, and, one was a road win in Philly, where the Wings have not won a regular season game since 1997. Twenty-five long years. Heck, Stevie Y was on the team the last time we won in Philly, so, that is a big deal. Plus, it was pretty darn entertaining hockey too.

All that aside, we face off against a pretty good Wild team with big playoff hopes. It's not going to be easy. It never is in Minnesota.

The Wings are back in action tonight after a much needed break for the team and fans alike. Most of us here are looking forward to the rest of this season, and, really wanting a good showing against the Flyers.

This match up is in Philly, and it's always a nasty crowd. Hopefully that will provide some extra motivation for the Wings tonight. It sure would be nice to start off the rest of the season on the winning side. Here's hoping...

The Wings did much better in their last outing beating the Ducks in OT with a goal by Jordan Oesterle. It was Oesterle's first goal as a Red Wing which makes it that much sweeter.

Tonight the Wings take on the Kings, and, said Wings need to exact some revenge for the embarrassing loss this team handed them in their last meeting. I'm expecting a no holds barred, full on effort from the guys tonight.
We'll have a much needed week off due to the All Star break after tonight's game, so let's settle in for what should be a good old fashioned barn burner.

There's not much to talk about after the Wings last outing. They did play some pretty good hockey until the third period letdown. Then they lost. Big time. Wings fans deserve a full sixty minute effort every night. Nothing less will do.....

The Wings are coming off a huge win last night against a highly touted Pittsburgh team, and it felt great. Mo Seider was most impressive taking on all comers, specifically at the end of the game when Crosby should have thought twice before trying to mess with Mo. A big round of applause for Calvin Picard who kept the Wings in the game, and, clinched the win in the shootout. Hey, we'll take it. It was a feel good win for all of us.

Tonight's game will definitely be tougher, simply because it's a turnaround game, and, the Leafs are playing very good hockey of late. The Wings know tonight's game will not be a walk in the park. Let's just hope that they're ready for the onslaught. I know of 19 Wings fans that are thinking the same...

There's not much to say about the high scoring affair the other night. It wasn't really all bad. Lots of goals were scored by the Wings so at least there's that. It just really sucks any time this team loses to the Cawks.

Next up is Pittsburgh, and, it's another team that Wings fans everywhere dislike immensely. The Wings had better be up to the task at hand, or......who am I kidding? We're told it's a "process."

The Wings are facing off against the Cawks tonight, and, it's always a huge deal when these two teams meet. Classic rivalries are always the most fun to watch. These teams are pretty evenly matched so it's anybody's game, but, it always so satisfying to beat this team.

D-Boss is showing just why he's the Captain. He's been on a mission of late, playing extremely well with such determination and heart. Here's hoping he can bring this team together, and, tonight bring one home for all Wings fans to enjoy.

Tonight's game isn't going to be easy by any means. The Preds really nailed the Wings pretty hard last meeting. They're a tough team, and, l really don't want to see the Preds wipe up the ice with the Wings tonight. Nobody does.

The Wings have had a few days off, and, I hope they've been preparing for a tough Dallas team tonight. Yes, they did just win two in a row, but, truth be told, Buffalo is no Dallas.

The Stars pretty much man handled, and out coached the Wings the last time these two teams met back in November. Let's just say, there are at least 19 Wings fans that are hoping for a better outcome this time around.

It's an unusual Monday matinee game. Also, it's MLK Day, a Holiday, so hopefully a few of you will have the day off, and be able to join in.
After the win on Saturday the Wings seem to be feeling pretty good about themselves, but, should never get over confident. Anything can happen, and usually does.

The Wings haven't had much to brag about either, since the start of the New Year which means nothing, really. I honestly don't know where the talking heads get their visions of Wild Cards spots from.

First up. The Wings face off against the Jets tonight, and are hoping to take advantage of home ice where the majority of their wins have taken place this season. Larkin skated this morning and was said to be a game time decision. So, here's hoping he slots in.

Next up. High fives all the way around for Paul Kukla reaching his goal, and, to all of the wonderful folks that have helped to make it happen. Honorable mention to the 19, as they are always able to be counted on when the going gets tough. We all enjoy the benefits of having KK and A2Y, and, truly appreciate all Paul does each and every day. It's all good...
