Teddy Kulfan decided yesterday that it’s time to take you to task. Teddy Kulfan, who used to be the Wing beat writer but now contributes when everyone else is too wasted or lazy to do their frigging jobs, is the omnicient, all-knowing bell weather bitch for Detroit fans. Teddy Kulfan wants you to know that now is not the time to be confident about this Detroit team. Teddy, in all his couch-ridden wisdom, loves to draw that line in the sand between sage observer (him) and the ignorant masses (you).

It’s understandable. It’s mid-August, training camp is approaching, and Red Wings fans are dying for the season to begin.

Add the signing of hometown hero Mike Modano, and suddenly they’re overly giddy, already talking Stanley Cup, excited about another parade down Woodward.

I like to kid with our Diggers and I like to goad them a bit, but Kulfan’s arrogance is just irritating.

The Wings will be a factor this season. There’s too much talent not to be successful.

But let’s hold off on the Stanley Cup talk in August.

Yeah. I gave that some thought dick. And decided against it. Who the hell do you think you’re talking to anyway? We’re Wing fans bitch. Wing. Fans. Every day we wake up to the same certainty: our team will win the Stanley Cup in June. We sweat to that ditty in August. It distracts our children from their homework in October. We make that grace our bitch on Thanksgiving and we stuff our frigging stockings with it on Christmas, Teddy. Every. Day.

Get to know your audience, Detroit media. Don’t tell me it’s too early to start talking about what baby jesus tells me is rightfully mine.
