from Carlos Monarrez of the Detroit Free Press,
Yes, the Canadiens are a proud and storied franchise. But they are not a good team. They have one win in their past seven games. If Lalonde and the Wings can’t find a way to win Tuesday night, they really don’t deserve to be in the playoffs and they certainly don’t deserve credit just putting up a fight.

In case you have been living under a rock.
Carlos is not wrong. Sometimes the truth stings.
While I agree. I think some people don't take in the fact that Montreal, no matter how bad they are, are playing the spoiler. To be the team to keep you from getting into the playoffs. Makes them just as dangerous as any.. But it is true.. They are not good. And if the Wings didn't drop 7 straight then well, they wouldn't be where they are today. :)
Right - the Wings have enjoyed that role the last 9 years or so, with nothing else to prove in games 80, 81, and 82 other than they can mess up a team's dream. And teams take pride in that; it gives them something to play for when their games haven't really mattered for some time.
I don't think Carlos gets that, who knows. He's all over the place and quick to point to where he's right while never talking about where he's wrong.
His column isn't big enough for all his wrongs.
If you reacted to the Raymond tying goal youre not alone.

Not unusual to have 2 teams leapfrogging for the last playoff position in the last two games, but four on Game 82 is crazy. Gary Bettman wet dream.
Flyers pass Caps with a Regulation Win, based on SIXTH Tiebreaker.
Flyers Playoffs then depend on outcome of Wings and Penguins.
Points, tied 89
Regulation Wins, tied 31
RW+OT Wins, tied 35
Total Wins, tied 39
Head-Head points, tied (1st Philly home game not counted)
Goal Differential, Flyers win, -25, Caps, -38.
Thanks, now I have a headache.
