The Dallas News's Mike Heika noted that the Boston Bruins' elimination of the New York Rangers on Saturday night significantly bolstered the return that the Dallas Stars will receive for Jaromir Jagr:
When the Stars traded Jaromir Jagr to the Boston Bruins April 2, there was a condition on the second round draft pick the Stars received. If the Bruins won two rounds in the playoffs, the Stars would receive Boston’s first round pick in 2013.
The Bruins beat the New York Rangers Saturday to take a five-game series win in the second round, so now the Stars will get the 27th, 28th, 29th or 30th pick, depending on where the Bruins finish. The Stars also have the 10th overall pick in the draft.
Dallas also received prospects Cody Payne and Lane MacDermid in the deal.
