Video- Vladimir Konstantinov Needs Help

Make sure to read the piece from Larry Lage of the AP which includes this..

This is the first time we have let people in to see the struggles he has every day,” his wife, Irina Konstantinov, told The Associated Press earlier this month. “Fans see him at a Red Wings game waving to people and think he must be doing great, but he’s not.”

I covered the issue months ago in the comments here (when I stated both sides were bought off—I mean lobbied—by different organizations (dems—trial lawyers and repubs—insurance corps) and how health care was going to be in the middle and rates were so low the facilities would close or discharge the patients that don’t make a profit. And how even keeping the max coverage could mean little as the facilities won’t be around to treat you if the accident is serious enough….“they’ve killed the coverage by starving the providers out of the market.”...

Well it’s coming up on the yearly health care payment reduction date.

And as predicted: it’s happening. It is unconscionable that Cheap Ilitch isn’t stepping up to the plate and doing what his dad did when he found out Rosa Parks needed help late in her life: pay the bills whatever they cost.

Make him a team ambassador and bring him to games where the crowd can show their appreciation and give his trust a salary enough to provide his yearly medical treatments (like 200,000 was the estimate I saw—so not out of line with that type of work).

L. Brooks Patterson warned us about this…and we all should remember this when the politicians try to buy of us with $400 checks in an election year as this could be any one of us if we got into an serious accident because if your health insurance is like mine they don’t cover auto accidents for a state of Michigan resident.

Not in Michigan, so thanks for the background, d_ca

I agree the Wings need to step in.

But feel even more for people in similar situations
who don’t have a huge potential benefactor loyalty-bound
(we hope) to step in.

This definitely deserves coverage for Vladdy and the rest
- and for other states considering similar reductions.

Welcome to Abel to Yzerman, a Red Wing blog since 1977.  No other site on the internet has better-researched, fact-laden and better prepared discussions than A2Y.  Re-phrase: we do little research, find facts and stats highly overrated and claim little to no preparation.  There are 19 readers of A2Y.
