Craig Button of TSN says Trevor Zegras will be Detroit's pick at #6 on Friday.
Button does the full first round with Detroit mentions starting at the 6:10 mark on the video.
Below, Ted Kulfan of the Detroit News on all options for the Wings at the draft....
The Red Wings aren’t going to get Hughes, who’ll likely be taken first by New Jersey.
But a group that includes Dylan Cozens (Lethbridge/WHL), Kirby Dach (Saskatoon/WHL), Trevor Zegras (USNTDP), Alex Turcotte (USNTDP) and Peyton Krebs (Kootenay/WHL) are all bunched together in many scouts’ minds after Hughes.
Cozens and Dach are big centers who are outstanding passers, while Zegras, Turcotte and Krebs are two-way centers who have dominated in junior.
All are on the Wings’ radar.
But keep an eye on lesser-heralded players such as Shane Pinto (USHL), Jamieson Rees (OHL) and John Beecher (USHL), players generally rated between the 30-50 range of top prospects, all centers who have attributes that will get them drafted early in this draft.

Kevin Allen of USA TODAY with his mock draft,,
6. Detroit Red Wings: Center Kirby Dach (Canada), 6-4, 200. Ranked No. 3 among North American skaters in NHL Central Scouting’s final rankings. Had 25 goals and 73 points in 62 games in the WHL.

Corey Pronman of The Athletic ($$$) with his mock draft,
Detroit: Dylan Cozens, C, Lethbridge-WHL
Detroit has been linked to Dach, Cozens and Vasili Podkolzin. I heard Zegras during the months of April and May, but less so lately. I don’t think Dach gets past the Wings.

And that’s all Craig said. Lots of jibber-jabber about the other prospects, but comparatively nothing about Zegras.

So… the mock drafts are all over the place with who DET would/should take.

There is lots of chatter on reddit about Zegras being the pick. He has the IQ, 2way game and passing skills. The knock against him is his skating. They also say one of Dach or Cozens, I can’t remember, is a big body but low IQ and maybe a bit like Sheahan.

Sportsnet has a good video feature on Cozens.

Sportsnet’s draft guru Sam Cosentino,
6. DETROIT RED WINGS
Alex Turcotte, C, USNTDP: A well-rounded player who missed some time due to injuries this season. When healthy and at his best, Turcotte displays the best two-way game of anyone in the draft class. NHL connections are a nice bonus.
