No. 6 Detroit Red Wings

The Red Wings have a real need in their prospect pool for a high-end defenseman and they’ll have options in this slot. Maybe enough to entertain moving down slightly depending on how the previous picks play out. If I were in charge, I would lean toward Adam Boqvist at No. 6 if he’s available because of his high ceiling but he may also take longer to reach his potential. The Red Wings really like Bouchard and they’d be getting a 6-foot-2 defenseman rated by Central Scouting as the No. 4 overall ranked North American skater. He can play big minutes in a lot of different situations and has the offensive skills to run an NHL power play.
