January 25, 1997. Some of you were wee children, some of us were adults, some of you were 17. 17 years is exactly how long it has been since the Wings have won in Philly during the regular season. 17 years and counting. Since the last Century, we haven't been able to beat the Flyers on their Home ice. Yes, there was the glorious Stanley Cup on June 7, 1997, but that was the Playoffs. And still, 17 years ago.
This is the regular season, and, although many will say it doesn't matter, I think it does.
We need to pile up some more points and show the Flyers that they can't win em' all at home against the Red Wings. Anymore.
The Flyers are hungry, and are looking for their first win at Home so this is bound to be ugly.
On a personal note, Philly is not the most friendly place for fans from opposing teams. Heck, they get stabby within their own ranks, even after a win.
That is why I'll be watching from the safety and comfort of my living room tonight. So, bring it on!
