What's this about a "rivalry?"

I’ll be back to fix any errors a little later.

Amazing GDT as always, Red

And as far as Smith’s call for “retribution” for the playoffs last season, I’ll just be happy if they get out of this game with an ounce of pride, a shred of dignity and no more injured bodies to throw on the pile.

Thanks Red, GDT is awesome, as usual!

Seems like this year is similar to a few other years, where injuries were detrimental to the Wings winning record .....but the young’uns are showing a lot of spunk and determination.

I am sure management and the coach are aware of who can do what, where and when, after all they get paid the big bucks, right?  And there are other players, the 2nd line, 3rd line, 4th line, etc. the ones that sometimes are healthier and eager (the young’uns, I referred to earlier) that can surprise us. I don’t discount the first line or star players, but if they aren’t healthy or having a good night, I am all supportive of other teammates.

I just wish Wings wouldn’t wait until the last minute of the period(s) to show some energy, grit, desire to Win. Sometimes one player gets energized and everyone watches, get with the program, give that energized player some support. (sorry for my soapbox) smile

Lets Go Red Wings!!!!!

Thanks RedM.  An oversized mug of Colombia’s finest salute to the GDT.  Saludos.

Referee:
Don VanMassenhoven

I’ll just start punching my nutbag right now.

Just get the two points, Wings.  It doesn’t matter if we get to the gimmick point.  Just get two points.

Agree, Little Redhead. I love watching those guys playing and getting all this experience.  Bodes well for the Wings’ future.

Let’s hope this is a trap game for the Hawks.  I can see them coming in all full of swagger, thinking it’s going to be a piece of cake.  I want to see the Wings make them leave whimpering.

Glad Ericsson is back!

Nail it down, Monster!

Not sure if I’m going to watch the NBCSucksNetwork or listen to Ken and Paul on radio.

....anyone get the feeling the big rig is going to get some heavy pressure on the hawks’ forecheck ??  they’re going to be trying to test those ribs with every crunching bit of boardplay….i would not be surprised to see him miss the last part of this game, and probably the next…..ribs are funny bones…..wait…..that’s the humerus….hang tough, riggy…...

....if you were quenville would you instruct your forecheckers to hammer him at every opportunity.???......hell yes…..i’m not liking this strategy, but judging by the capability of the wings’ medical/training staff, his return might be a little rushed….watch the usual suspects, bickell and shaw, to see how far past the edge they play tonight…..

I can see them coming in all full of swagger, thinking it’s going to be a piece of cake.

I see them coming in nervous, with butterflies in their stomachs, and thinking this will be one of their toughest games of the year.

As someone living out west maybe I have a different perspective. These teams that know us very well are all very excited coming into the Joe this year - because they only get to make one visit. Their local media talked about this visit during the offseason, in their pre-season reports they pointed out this date, and then about 7 days before they visit the media turns it up a notch.

This is a big event on these team’s schedule. I know the amount of attention given to the move of conferences was larger in Detroit than out here… but this was the only thing that mattered to them with the changing of the conferences - “We only get to play Detroit twice from now on.”

Take a look at what happened to the Blues after their game with us.. they lost to NJ 7-1. That’s like how in some years the Wolverines will lose to some rinky-dinky school the week after they beat Notre Dame.

They Hawks will be up for this game, amped to the rafters, but they won’t be cocky.

We look at our roster and we see who is actually currently on the roster. These teams don’t seem to see us as we are, we scare them all and they don’t know our building has empty seats in the lower bowl - they think the rafters still shake every night.

One good thing is that our fans also “want” to watch the Blackhawks. Unlike so many games this season where we gad a half-empty lower bowl - people/corporations are going to use the tickets they have for tonight!!

I can’t wait.

LGRW!!

Hmmmmm…  the NBC Sports web site says the game starts at 7 PM.  But the Wings site says 8.  Better check at 7 ET everyone, just in case…

Actually, the NBC Sports Network says 7 PM in one place and 8 PM in another.  Geez.  I think 8 is correct.

Would like to LB with the 19, but can only do that when my laptop form work is home, which it isn’t. But, I may be able to stop by between periods to see how juvenillicous you all are wink

I’m sure we’ll be wading around the Hasek knee deep in excrement, urine, and blood as usual - might even find some of us curled up in our standard fetal positions.  Some neighborhood pets would be floating around as well.
