This move wound up working out.  I was stuck with the Islanders game - but I bet this move motivated the team.  And it's nothing personal here with Couts - he has been a good soldier for PHILA - but holding the Captain accountable sends a message.  And when they dress him in the next game - as they should - he will respond.

 I hope Patrick Roy scratches Anders Lee or Adam Pelech on THU.   I just wonder with Adam, if he is still struggling with his health - as he has had his bell rung before a couple of times.  But his play is WAY off this year.  But my point is that you have to hold leaders accountable when they are not getting the job done.  The locker room has been a bit entitled - and Roy needs to shake things up.  

While this move paid off in the short-term, it is the type of move that makes Torts welcome wear off after awhile. You can only pull these sort of tricks so many times before the someone turns on you. Only time will truly tell as the Flyers have been playing above their heads for most of the season. Now that the heat is on, maintaining that level is going to be tricky.
