It isnt just happening in sports, its happening in the real world too. Older folks had to take all the shit their parents and grandparents, and coaches and teachers, had to throw at them, because they basically had to go it alone. I think social media has enabled young people to learn at an earlier age that they dont have to take over the line behavior from people like Torts with a smile after all. They will be here after he is gone.
I like Torts as a person as far as I can tell, but I am glad he is not our coach. I do not see him ever adjusting to reality. Every team he coaches regresses towards the mean before they get halfway up the mountain.
