The concept of tolerance and inclusion practiced by those folks who mounted social media soapboxes to demand that either the Flyers or NHL suspend or fine Ivan Provorov — for his refusal to participate in a pregame warmup Tuesday in which all of his teammates wore a Pride-themed jersey to mark the organization’s celebration of the LGBTQ+ community — apparently means tolerating only those who share their beliefs and excluding those who do not.
These are people who apparently believe that employers not only have the right, but also have the duty to discipline employees who do not embrace a social justice movement endorsed by the company.
Would they believe the same if a team owner demanded that all players wear warmup jerseys celebrating Right to Life?
What if, in addition to inviting former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin to drop the ceremonial first puck in advance of the Rangers-Flyers 2008-09 season opener, Philadelphia owner, “Mr. Snider,” had outfitted his players in jerseys with McCain-Palin 2008 artwork as the logo?
Oh, but those are different.

Larry makes a good point.
These movements come and go, change all the time.
If an owner made all the players wear a cross on their jersey, people would flip out.
NHL needs to get it together and stop injecting random social justice movements into their sport.
Once you start them, they just keep snowballing and you'll never satiate these people.
First it was "we just want to be like everyone else" and then it became "You have to now vocalize your acceptance" and then it's "now you have to wear PROOF of your acceptance, it's not good enough to just say it" and then it became "Now you must change how you conduct your personal and professional life to how I feel/believe on a daily basis, wear PROOF, vocalize your acceptance and now you MUST DONATE to our cause or we will publicly shame you, call for your removal from your career and then force your children to also be indoctrinated into acceptance"
No one cares what you do in your personal home. People start to care when you force them to also do the same in their home regardless of their beliefs and if you try to have them shamed, locked up or remove their ability to feed their family.
