from Sam Carchidi of Philly Hockey Now,
Sean Couturier undewent another back surgery Thursday, the Philadelphia Flyers announced Satrday, and it’s fair to wonder if his career is in jeopardy.
It’s his second back surgery in 10 months. The Flyers say his “expected recovery time” is three to four months.
They also said last month that doctors said he would NOT need a second surgery.
In other words, it’s a guessing game.
No one really knows when he will return. No one really knows if he will be effective again or if he’ll be a shell of his former self, a one -time Selke Trophy winner as the NHL’s best defensive forward.
I wish for Sean to have a speedy recovery. He is a very good NHL player. Although with a division/conference rival --- we all would want him to be healthy and take his rightful place in the Flyers lineup. While a part of the game, injuries to all players suck. Good luck Sean.
