—The Canucks have posted a winning record of 7-3-0 in the last ten games played against Northwest division opponents and a record of 10-5-0 in the last fifteen games against their divisional foes. Overall, the Canucks hold a record of 11-11-1 versus the Northwest this season. Only Dallas has recorded more wins against Northwest teams with 12.
—On Saturday, February 10th versus Atlanta, Markus Naslund recorded his 103rd career power play goal as a member of the Vancouver Canucks and established a new all-time franchise power play goal record. The goal was Naslund’s seventh of the season on the power play and moved the Canucks captain past previous record holder Tony Tanti (102).
—Vancouver’s penalty kill ranks first overall in the league with an 88.7% success rate through 56 games played. The PK is even stronger on home ice at 92.4% and ranks first in the NHL with only 11 power play goals allowed at GM Place this season. The Canucks have played almost half the season with a perfect record on the penalty kill (32 of 56 games) through Feb. 12/07.
CAREER NUMBERS VERSUS THE WILD
Daniel Sedin (19) is one point away from registering 20 career points versus the Wild.
Henrik Sedin (18) is two points away from tallying 20 career points against the Wild.
Markus Naslund (9) is one goal away from recording 10 career goals versus the Wild.
Neither Brad Moran nor Brandon Reid have ever played an NHL game against Minnesota.
Lukas Krajicek is back from his concussion and Alexander Edler has gone back to the Manitoba Moose And by all appearances, Jan Bulis still has a shoulder injury.
As far as I’m concerned, all is right with the world as long as we can see Brandon Reid and Brad Moran play another game alongside Markus Naslund.
