The Detroit Red Wings suffered their first loss of the season Tuesday, losing to themselves.
At least, that’s how they felt after self-destructing in the third period and falling 3-1 to the Anaheim Ducks at Little Caesars Arena.
“We beat ourselves 100 percent tonight,” Red Wings coach Jeff Blashill said. “That’s not to take anything away from them. They hung in there and kept playing, but we beat ourselves for sure.”
