Detroit Red Wings coach Jeff Blashill gathered the team at one end the ice before Monday’s morning skate for what seemed like part pep talk, part kick in the pants.
What was the message?
“Basically, that we didn’t show up this weekend,” Anthony Mantha said. “That we started cheating for offense in Carolina. Obviously, we don’t want to do that tonight. We have four games this week he said. Let’s just start with tonight and try to win all four. And if we do, that gets us back in it, gets the guys going, obviously the confidence after that, a couple of wins, is going to be huge. We need to focus on tonight and be ready when the puck drops.”
Below, watch Mantha and Blashill after the skate today.
Both Green and Daley our out for tonight too.
