The Detroit Red Wings faced an uphill climb for the fourth game in a row Friday. This time, they couldn’t rally in the third period to salvage a point.
The Minnesota Wild defeated Detroit 3-2 at Little Caesars Arena, extending the Red Wings’ winless streak to four (0-2-2).
Tyler Bertuzzi and Anthony Mantha scored for the Red Wings. Filip Hronek and Dylan Larkin assisted on both goals. Larkin reached 200 points for his career (82 goals, 118 assists in 303 games).
Devan Dubnyk made 26 saves for Minnesota (29-27-6). The Red Wings are 23-30-9.
Jonathan Bernier faced 35 shots while his record fell to 6-14-4. Jimmy Howard was out with the flu, forcing the team to recall Harri Sateri from the Grand Rapids Griffins to dress as the back-up.
