Even though Nashville outplayed the Wings in the first period, the Wings scored the only goal. Jimmy Howard was very good and stopped all 19 shots.
Detroit made it 2-0 just past the seven minute mark in the second, but Nashville scored two goals to even the game after 40 minutes.
Detroit was the better team in th third ad scored the only goal in the final stanza.
