from Kirkland Crawford of the Detroit ree Press,
Michigan hockey is taking it outside once again this season.
On Jan. 5, the Wolverines will play Notre Dame at 3:30 p.m. Jan. 5 at Notre Dame Stadium, one of the most popular college football arenas in the country.
The game will come four days after one of the NHL's annual marquee events, the Winter Classic, at the same site as the Chicago Blackhawks "host" the Boston Bruins on New Year's Day.
This marks the eighth time U-M will play outdoors in recent years. Along with the game at MSU's Spartan Stadium in 2001, the Wolverines have played at Wisconsin's Camp Randall Stadium in 2010, a game against Michigan State at the Big House in 2010, a game against Ohio State at Progressive Field in Cleveland, twice at Comerica Park in 2013 and at Soldier Field in Chicago, also against MSU, in 2015.
