POTENTIAL BOOST

The Penguins could receive a boost in offensive production tonight if Blake Comeau is able to suit up for the first time since suffering an upper-body injury Dec. 22 at Florida. Despite missing the past 20 games, Comeau ranks fourth among team wingers, and sixth overall, with 11 goals this season.
Prior to his injury, Comeau had scored three goals in his last six games. He also had a season-high two assists in the Oct. 23 matchup against the Red Wings.
Comeau’s 11 goals already rank as his third-highest single-season total behind the 24 and 17 goals he had in 2010-11 and ’09-10, respectively, while skating for the NY Islanders.
In addition to what Comeau would provide offensively, he would supply more grit to the lineup, as his 3.03 hits per game this year pace all team forwards

Welcome to Abel to Yzerman, a Red Wing blog since 1977. No other site on the internet has better-researched, fact-laden and better prepared discussions than A2Y. Re-phrase: we do little research, find facts and stats highly overrated and claim little to no preparation. There are 19 readers of A2Y. No more, no less. All of them, except maybe one, are juvenile in nature. Reminding them of that in the comment section will only encourage them to prove that.
