Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun on Johan Franzen...

The Mule has kicked the Senators' butts the last few times they've seen him.

He hopes to continue that success....

"I've been fortunate most times that we play in this building. Colorado has been pretty good to me as well. Usually I have good memories, good nights and usually we win as well so you have a good feeling when you come in here."

Detroit coach Mike Babcock says Franzen is tough on the Senators because of the way he competes.

Ken Warren of the Ottawa Citizen on the play of Erik Karlsson,

Ottawa Senators captain Erik Karlsson showed some verbal slickness Monday in skating away from his dismal performance in Saturday’s 4-2 loss to the Boston Bruins.

When asked if he could turn the page in preparation for Tuesday’s home game against the Detroit Red Wings, Karlsson didn’t hesitate.

“Oh, yeah, I do it all the time when I read,” he said.

“No, it’s not that hard at all. I don’t know how many games I’ve played now. If I evaluated every game I ever played where I let myself down or I didn’t play well enough, I think I wouldn’t be here right now. I’m just going to turn the page, move forward and play again (Tuesday). I don’t really care what happened last game. We lost. That’s the end of the story for me.”

Welcome to Abel to Yzerman, a Red Wing blog since 1977. No other site on the internet has better-researched, fact-laden and better prepared discussions than A2Y. Re-phrase: we do little research, find facts and stats highly overrated and claim little to no preparation. There are 19 readers of A2Y. No more, no less. All of them, except maybe one, are juvenile in nature. Reminding them of that in the comment section will only encourage them to prove that.
