Ahhh, the good old days when we could look forward to some real hate. Some actual venom directed toward a team, instead of a fan base. I've never had a problem with Duck fans, mainly because I don't know any.
But the Ducks, themselves?
Truly a team we could genuinely dislike.
The Prongers and the Perrys. The Getzlafs and the non-descript and oddly similar goaltenders. Big, anonymous, Wing killers.
Some of the key players remain, and you're allowed to dislike them. It's tougher now, though.
We won't get into why it's a difficult thing to muster the same disdain. I do too much of that, the sad stuff. I've turned into Mitch Albom pretending to write stories about the inner city he hasn't visited in a decade.
Tonite? Tonite a nice win over some assholes would be nice.
