Maybe players are thinking “This is going too easy and too fast. I wonder if we’re being tricked into something awful”.

I think the time is now, if players dont act and get it settled we are all getting a lump of <insert your favortie explicative here> in our stockings for xmas.

If these meetings fall apart, I think I’m going to want to hear about how at least something got put to a union-wide vote; even if that means they had a union-wide vote to decide whether or not to have a union-wide vote.

How dumb is the PA? They are just going to cause a season loss and accept the same damn proposal as they are being offered now or much worse. This is ridiculous.

I am continually amazed at the sheer ignorance of the NHLPA and the stupidity they are forcing Fehr to engage in.
They are making incredibly stupid business decisions. At this point I literally don’t know what they are trying to accomplish, at least in real terms. If they sit out a year and end up with the old CBA they’ll still make less money over 5-6 years than they would have made playing a flat 50-50 with no make whole over one additional year.
Even now, even still, they are being humongous morons. They’re fighting over, what, a years difference in FA status? 80 million dollars over the life of the deal now that the NHL went to 300 mil on make-whole?
I’m amazed there isn’t someone with a clue telling them they’re out in the field gathering cows while their barn is burning to the ground.
The owners don’t give a bleep because a) they’re not making much money from hockey ops anyway and b) since they are getting ‘concessions’ there will come a point where they will make back every dollar of revenue they’ve missed out on so far.
Not so for the players. Every dollar they lose now is a dollar that’s gone forever.
Watching the NHLPA negotiate is like watching a 2 on 1 forming with Andreas Lilja being the lone man back, with the NHLPA in the role of Lilja. Will he just get skated past? Will he just take a dumb penalty? Will he trip over the blue line and end up on a blooper reel?
Whatever happens, it’s not going to look good.

If only the players would hurry up and pay the fire brigade to put out the fire they set, they could start the process of rebuilding the barn and hoping that if they don’t do something, the same thing won’t happen again.

not quite sure if the PA wanting the mediators back is a good thing or a bad thing?
