What Did Garth Snow Do?

from Katie Strang of ESPN New York,

Snow sent Vanek, a two-time 40-goal scorer and perhaps the most coveted forward on the rental market plus a conditional fifth-round pick, to Montreal for what appears to be a pretty meager return.

The Islanders acquired a conditional second-round pick in 2014 and Swedish prospect Sebastian Collberg in the deal, which pales in comparison to what they surrendered to land him in the early-season blockbuster with Buffalo. Looking to shake things up with his team, Snow sent heart-and-soul winger Matt Moulson, a first round pick and second-round pick to the Sabres. Compare the two returns and you can understand why Islanders fans are livid.

What’s more is that the Islanders won’t even get back that second-round pick if the Canadiens don’t make the playoffs -- a nightmare scenario which would mean all they get in the deal is Collberg. And suffice it to say, he’s not exactly lighting things up over in the Swedish Elite League.

Poor Islanders fans.  I always wondered how it was that Garth Snow had a job.

Because he doesn’t know how to say, “No,” to Charles Wang.  Neil Smith tried to do build the Isles his way, but Wang showed his wang to Smith and pointed his wang at the door.

At least he didn’t give up a first for Dubnyk and then give him a 100 year contract.

Yeah, even Holland at his worst can’t compete with the Islanders.

Matt Moulson (30 year old, .7PPG, winger), 1st round pick, and a 2nd round pick, for ...

A prospect and 2nd round pick that is nullified if Montreal misses the playoffs.

NHL14 sure as hell wouldn’t let you make that trade. How come Garth Snow gets to?

Even though I get down because the wings lost a game that night and I only started heavily watching the wings since they have started this playoff performance slide from their great heights, I still am thankful that they are nowhere near the shitshow that rests on long island.

Garth Snow is lucky Mike Gillis is almost as bad a GM or he would be getting even more media attention for his terrible trades. The only people dumber than Snow and Gillis are the owners who pay their salaries.
