Videos- Bobby Ryan And Patrick Wiercioch Injured By Hits Last Night

via Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun,

But you can forgive everybody if the celebration was tempered by the fact winger Bobby Ryan — the club’s hottest player — had to be helped off the ice with 4:14 left in the third after he was smashed into the boards by Columbus defenceman David Savard, who was thrown out and will likely be suspended.

“Bobby brings an offensive skillset that is irreplaceable,” said Anderson. “We’ll have to wait and see what’s going on with him. You hope for the best and you never like seeing guys get hurt.”

While it appeared to be a shoulder for Ryan, the Senators were already without defenceman Patrick Wiercioch. He may have been the fifth player on the club’s roster this season to suffer a concussion after he had to be helped off the ice in the second after being hit by Columbus winger Nick Foligno.

The CP says no update on Ryan post-game...

Ottawa lost Bobby Ryan late in the third after being hit by David Savard and Patrick Wiercioch left early in the second after taking a hit from Nick Foligno. There was no update on either player following the game.

Watch both hits below...

David Savard five for boarding and a game for the hit on Ryan,

Foligno hit on Wiercioch, no call...

#1, I don’t know why Savard was thrown out, #2, is the Ottawa media just trying to lobby for suspensions now?  That looked like a very average hit.

Columbus has asked the NHL to rescind the misconduct on Savard.
