The Flames scored a goal but it didn’t count because the Predators had too many men on the ice. The Flames did score on the subsequent power play to make up for it.

Rinne touched the puck, if even for a split second. So basically the Preds did have possession, so play should have stopped.

The debate is if Rinne really had possession - what is “possession”?

The million dollar question in these instances.

Rinne didn’t have control of the puck it just hit him. It should become a delayed call just like any other penalty at that point. Goal should have counted. Otherwise throw a guy over the bench for a whistle anytime the other team gets a breakaway.
