Video- “We Need To Change The Complexion Of Our Hockey Club” -John Tortorella

Some strong words from Coach Tortorella post-game after a 2-0 loss to the Wings last night.

from Jason Botchford of the Vancouver Province,

It is true players with no-trade clauses get traded in the NHL, and it happens regularly. But everyone saw how difficult dealing Roberto Luongo was, although his contract does create unique challenges in a possible deal.

For good players with no-trades, like Alex Edler, Ryan Kesler, and Kevin Bieksa, it’s challenging to find good fits but hardly impossible.

The team was closing in on an Edler-to-Detroit deal at the draft and the minute that fell through, people close to the situation predicted it was something which could be re-visited this season. The suggestion being Edler would be willing to waive his no-trade to come to Detroit.
