worst part about the whole thing…. not one penguin on the ice felt like they had to do anything or say anything to McDonald… and you can not use the excuse “well the penguins did not want to hurt their chances of winning”... they were down 4-0 at that point and had no chance at all of coming back.

Well, I certainly noticed that too.  Seems like there are some major problems on this team.  Chemistry, secondary scoring, horrible power play setup, major questions on D beyond Letang and Orpik.  All I know is if Herb Brooks was still around, this team would’ve been skating gassers all night long after that game.

2-3 games is well deserved. Not much worse than what Phanuef did to Tavares just last week. Didn’t look like an intentional run at someone and he has no past history, but you can’t hit a prone player like that.  He was in contact with both Pens players as they were shielding the puck down so he didn’t come out of nowhere to blast a player either. Since the NHL suspends based on the severity of the injury, I doubt he gets as many as 5, but he isn’t a “star” so an example may need to be made.

What are you talking about? Engelland was right there but Mcdonald was on his knees and made no effort to stand up & answer for himself (Engelland was also pushing him down).

“...and you can not use the excuse “well the penguins did not want to hurt their chances of winning”.”

I think you can use the ‘Engelland didn’t want to start punching a guy in the back of the head with his face on the ice’ excuse.
