NEW YORK (Dec. 7, 2017) – Calgary Flames forward Matthew Tkachuk has been suspended for one game, without pay, for unsportsmanlike conduct during NHL Game No. 426 in Toronto on Wednesday, Dec. 6, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today.

The incident occurred at 14:07 of the first period.

Tkachuk is considered a repeat offender under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and, based on his average annual salary, will forfeit $11,280.49. The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.

So he’s a repeat offender, but all they did with it was give him the same suspension as he got 10 games ago.

clap, clap, clap. “player safety” is a J-O-K-E.

I can’t believe that actually gave him a game for that to be honest. I could see a fine, but nothing more. That was a pretty nothing incident.

You mean when he literally tapped his stick against the back of Witkowski’s leg? That wasn’t even worthy of a minor penalty let alone a suspension.

You’re talking about making contact with a person who’s been kicked out of a game and is headed to the locker room.
