from Mark Whicker of the LA Daily News,
A crumb of good news drifted down from the border Friday night.
The Kings wasted no time grabbing it.
“Thirty minutes ago, Alex Turcotte got his first point of the season,” announced Glen Murray, the Kings’ director of player development.
The gathering of season-ticket holders at The Novo applauded, even though it knew Turcotte, the Kings’ first-round draft choice, is playing for Wisconsin....
Murray showed slides of the young Kings sharpening themselves, for such instructors as Mike Donnelly, Jarret Stoll, Sean O’Donnell and Mike O’Connell.
The Double Stanley core of the Kings, names like Anze Kopitar, Drew Doughty and Dustin Brown, was barely mentioned, and there wasn’t one word about Jonathan Quick.
This is what happens when your 71 points are the fewest in the West and when you add no significant players from outside.
