Summertime

Yes it is early July and our game does not hit the ice again until mid-September when training camps open again. So what do I do in the meantime?

Of course I will be following all the off-ice hockey news, Olympic teams will soon be a hot discussion topic and NHL teams will continue to try to improve their rosters.

Hockey no longer seems to have an off-season, especially for those teams who went deep into the Stanley Cup Playoffs. But I do need some down time to re-fresh my batteries and also reflect on the past season.

I am not into video games, but believe it or not, I was great playing some Intellivison games. I also enjoy visiting a sports betting company along with playing a few rounds of World Golf Tour (pkwjr) where I hold the rank of master golfer.

I will also be hitting YouTube and searching for old school hockey moments and by the way, I consider anything old school pre-1980's.

I have no vacation plans, the lockout made sure of that, but do hope to take a few days off and maybe visit Algonquin Provincial Park and do some camping for a few days.

One goal of mine is to teach Bernie, my African Grey parrot to say "he shoots, he scores". He is almost there but not quite.

My barbecue grill will also be in use on a very frequent basis. I've learned the art of grilling vegetables and have found the taste is very unique but there is a fine line between great tasting and to charred.

Of course, I will be around updating KK readers on all the latest hockey news and before we know it, early October will be here and the puck will drop once again on another NHL season.

The anticipation will start up again in late August and we will bursting at the seams waiting to watch our favorite NHL team and all that comes along with it.

One more thing, my health is top priority and my goal is to eat healthy, get plenty of rest, do some exercising on a regular basis and think positive thoughts.
