from Kevin Allen of USA TODAY,
Free agents such as Sam Gagner, Justin Schultz, Matt Carle, Kris Versteeg and James Wisniewski are still available. i
Now multiple teams are looking to make trades to ease their salary cap crunch or upgrade their roster.
Here are teams expected to be active in the trade market this summer:
Anaheim Ducks: The Ducks lost David Perron, Chris Stewart and Jamie McGinn, so they need to bolster their offense. After acquiring goalie Jonathan Bernier from the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Ducks have just under $10 million in cap space remaining, according to generalfanager.com. They still are trying to re-sign two restricted free agents — defenseman Hampus Lindholm and forward Rickard Rakell. Once Lindholm is re-signed, the Ducks could move defenseman Cam Fowler to land a scoring forward.
Boston Bruins: Since the offseason began, the Bruins have been rumored to be in the hunt for a defenseman. If the Bruins want to make the playoffs, they have to stabilize their defensive corps.
