Woah I guess Peter Chiarelli didn’t “like his team” even though they were just 2 games away from a Cup…

Thanks for putting this together Paul

Kind of like a summertime version of Home for the Holidays (at least my online home)

Canucks’ wishes in free agency: bottom six checking centre and No. 6 or No. 7 d-man. May not get it today. Might be later in the summer.

Perfect.  Emmerton/Eaves/Tootoo and Kindl/Lashoff/Quincey for draft picks, then sign Ference.

If Nill outbids KH with a 3-year deal for Cleary, after trading for Horcoff & trading away Loui Eriksson ... it might be time to start scrutinizing his GM chops as well.

Don’t get into a bidding war with Nill over fu*king Cleary, Kenny.

Seriously!  The roster spot is NOT worth it.

Horton for 5.3avv is damn good.  Cbus looks like they got a pretty damn good GM running things now.  Picked up Gaborik last year too.  Already play great team D, getting serious scorers for top 6.  Lookin’ good there in Cbus, wouldn’t be surprised to see ex-Jokerit GM sign ex-Jokerit player Filpulla on some of kind of deal with longer term bringing cap hit down.

And we’ve crashed cap geek, must be everyone trying to figure out who PITT is going to jettison after teh Scuderi deal to make room for another forward or 2.

$6 million too much for Weiss.

$5 million is…ugh…high but…

Only issue is Alfie’s gone in a year, Brunner’s gonna play for a decade or more…

So, Datsyuk-Abdelkader-Zetterberg
Weiss-Alfie-Franzen
Andersson-Nyquist-Tatar

I’m glad that I’m not the only one who sees that.

The TSN guys can’t get over Alfredsson leaving Ottawa!

About Weiss…if Detroit is serious about paying him anywhere near the supposed $6mil mark, why not even consider Clarkson at $5.25? The term is too long I suppose but damn…I’m still pissed about not bringing Ference in. Bah.

I don’t like losing Brunner either. He’s a goal scorer. We need scorers. Time will tell but he signs a relatively modest contract elsewhere then Detroit screwed the pooch.

Clarkson is a winger, not a second line center.

Weiss also averages about .25 points a game more than Clarkson.

I’d like to see what the resident turd in the punch bowl thinks about this deal. Thoughts Garth?

I wonder how much Stevie Y is willing to shell out for Fil. Has to be less than Weisserman. Just has to be. Who in their right mind would pay Fil a dollar over 4mil for his services. And I think $4mil is way too much.

I think the brain trust made a big mistake with Brunner. He showed he could score. He showed he could work out of a slump. He showed he could score in the shootout. And he showed he could score in the playoffs. What more could the kid have done?

Outside of Grabovsky, Stevie doesn’t have alot of options besides Fil, so that might start to drive up the price.  I don’t disagree with you though, other than to say 4mil is still too much for Fil.

And there ya go, 5yrs/5mil for Fil.  Almost identical to Weiss, so I guess the jury will be out for the next half decade on who better earns his paycheck.

you “apologists” know just because you sign someone doesn’t mean success?  How many times have we heard this from you guys.  Now KH is doing what we’ve asked for FIVE YEARS and now it’s GOOD DAY FOR YOU??

BWAHAHAHAHA

ken holland is doing literally the same thing he’s done every single off season and trade deadline every year. your lack of understanding of the intricacies of this process leads you to use words like “apologists” to describe people who understand it’s a complex business with multiple interests on all sides.

KH offering a contract last year to Suter is the exact same thing as offering a contract to Alfie, but sometimes the player takes it and sometimes they don’t.

It’s a good day for all of us. But go ahead and find other reasons to continue to spew negativity.
