COLUMBUS, OHIO - The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed left wing Scott Hartnell on Injured Reserve and recalled left wing Kerby Rychel from the American Hockey League’s Springfield Falcons, Blue Jackets General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.
Hartnell, 32, suffered a broken finger in Thursday’s 3-2 win at Washington and is expected to miss two weeks. He has recorded six goals and 11 assists for 17 points with 39 penalty minutes in 28 games during his first season with the Blue Jackets. Acquired from the Philadelphia Flyers in a trade in June 2014, the 14-year NHL veteran has tallied 256-298-554 and 1,491 penalty minutes in 981 career games with the Blue Jackets, Flyers and Nashville Predators. The Regina, Saskatchewan native posted 20-32-52 with 103 penalty minutes in 78 games in 2013-14.
