Robin Lehner Plans To Push For Progress

from Ben Gotz of the Las Vegas Review-Journal,

Golden Knights goaltender Robin Lehner, three days after tweeting about issues with player health and medical treatment, said Tuesday he has had productive calls with the NHL and NHL Players Association about potential changes.

Lehner said he tried other avenues before taking to Twitter on Saturday, but wasn’t seeing results. He said he’s excited after the initial talks and now plans to push for progress behind closed doors.

“All I’m asking is to be a part of that change, that discussion to fix some of the things for us as players,” Lehner said. “I don’t want to see any player suffer in silence anymore.”

Good for Robin Lehner standing up for the greater good, I (Tom Sestito) can only speak for myself, the amount of vitamin T (Toradol) and Ambien I was given is insane.

I was given a bottle of Toradol, I was a fringe player in the NHL after taking then I felt amazing. Not a pain in my body, you’re taught to believe that the doctors have your best interest where that’s not always the case. And no they don’t explain all the drugs they provide

Also, there are great organizations in the NHL, (the Penguins) team of doctors were the ones to get me off all that shit, and were dumbfounded as to why I had all of it to begin with.

The overuse and abuse of Toradol in the NHL has been reported previously. Ryan Kesler, who was personally diagnosed with Crohn’s disease due to his extensive Toradol use during his career.

Stories are already leaking backing up Lehner’s claims. But it sounds very team specific—-will be interesting to see which teams’ doctors are outed.
