Thomas is currently with NY Islanders and the Islanders said they need a goalie as they are letting Nabokov hit free agency. Maybe Thomas doesn’t want to play for the Islanders - maybe Tampa or Philly will trade for him.

Katie Strang tweet...

If Thomas is free to explore options as a UFA, assume that means the Isles did not elect to toll his contract for next season

We’ll have no further comment at this time.

...and with that he raised the drawbridge on his compound’s moat and retired to his panic room with his crisis cooker, gold ingots, and heirloom seed depository.

Calgary, maybe?  Or hell, even DAL…

I can’t see any other team other than Philadelphia being a fit for this guy. Ha. Get it done, Holmgren.

Holmgren will sign Thomas and then trade Giroux and Hartnell for Luongo for a dynamic 1-2 punch in net. Holland’s conservative approach can be annoying, but it’s better than Holmgren. Although I’d take a fragile Briere over a fragile Filp any day.

Wonder if he’d go to Edmonton.

I’m surprised he doesn’t go after that tax-free KHL money.

Why so people keep suggesting goalies for Dallas?  They’re absolutely set as far as a starter is concerned and I don’t think anyone who has ever met Illitches, much less worked for them, could possibly be so foolish as to think a controversy toting over the hill dude would be a good backup.

Of course he won’t.  Who ever has?

I don’t think even Philly is that dumb.

DAL?  No, Lehtonen is the man there, and Nill knows it.

Tim Thomas and “Team” are concepts that don’t seem to go together well. I’d LOVE it if no team shows interest and he ends up playing in Europe or Asia.

You win the internets.

That’s my point, too, Primis, yet someone has tossed Dallas out there for both Thomas and Bryzzy.  Dallas has a critical need of a backup; neither of those two qualify.
