PHT: Whatever happened to Patrice Bergeron didn't keep him from returning to Boston

Boston Bruins forward Patrice Bergeron suffered some sort of mysterious injury that sidelined him for the second period of Game 5 and forced him to leave the United Center sitting in the back of an ambulance, and Sportsnet's Nick Kypreos reported that Bergeron may have suffered a spleen injury.

Pro Hockey Talk's Joe Yerdon was monitoring early-morning Tweets, and he found that Bergeron flew back to Boston with his Bruins teammates, who spent Saturday night in Chicago, per the Bruins themselves:

Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli issued the following update today, June 23, on forward Patrice Bergeron: Patrice was discharged from the hospital Saturday night and will be flying home with the team this morning.

And TSN's Bob McKenzie suggested that Bergeron did not suffer a spleen injury, though there is no report as to whether Bergeron pulled a Bart Simpson and said, "Oh, my ovaries!"
