DUBNYK RECORDS THIRD CONSECUTIVE SHUTOUT
Nino Niederreiter scored 12 seconds into the game and Devan Dubnyk turned aside all 30 shots he faced to lead the Wild to victory and record his third consecutive shutout, the second time he has achieved that feat in his career (also Oct. 25-29, 2016).

* Elias notes that Dubnyk became the third goaltender in the League’s expansion era (since 1967-68) to post three consecutive shutouts multiple times in his NHL career, joining Brian Elliott (3x) and Roberto Luongo(2x).

* Dubnyk, who paces all goaltenders with three shutouts this season, leads the NHL with 18 shutouts since his first appearance with the Wild on Jan. 15, 2015. Dubnyk recently passed Dwayne Roloson (15) for sole possession of second on the franchise’s all-time shutouts list, trailing only Niklas Backstrom (28) for the most inWild history.

OILERS SCORE EIGHT GOALS TO DEFEAT GOLDEN KNIGHTS

Connor McDavid (2-1—3) factored on three of eight goals to help the Oilers defeat the Golden Knights and improve to 3-1-1 in their last five contests. Edmonton scored eight goals in a game for the first time since Dec. 5, 2013 vs. COL (8-2 W).

* McDavid, who registered at least three points in a game for the 18th time in his career (third time this season), is tied for second in the NHL in games with three or more points since entering the League in 2015-16, trailing only Patrick Kane (21). The reigning Hart and Art Ross Trophy winner leads all players with 14 such performances over the past two seasons.

* There have been seven instances of a team scoring at least eight goals in a game in 2017-18 (274 GP), the highest such total through the first 274 games of a season since 2006-07 (also 7).

JETS WIN AFTER HONORING HAWERCHUK
After honoring Dale Hawerchuk with an induction into the Winnipeg Jets Hall of Fame, the Jets built a 4-0 lead – highlighted by three goals in the second period – to defeat the Coyotes and improve to 6-1-1 in their last eight games.

* Hawerchuk collected 379-550—929 in 713 career games with the original Winnipeg Jets, the most goals and points in team history. Click the photo below to watch the entire pre-game ceremony.

* The Predators matched a season-high with six goals – including four in the second period – to defeat the Capitals and extend their win streak to five games. Nashville and Washington combined for seven goals in the second period, marking the second straight day and third time this season that one period featured at least seven combined goals (also TOR vs. NYR on Oct. 7 and CGY vs. STL on Nov. 13).

* Pittsburgh rallied from deficits of 2-0, 3-1 and 4-3 before Conor Sheary (2-0—2) scored 16 seconds into overtime to help the Penguins improve to 6-0-1 at home this season, including six consecutive wins. Sidney Crosby (1-1—2) assisted on the overtime goal and snapped an 11-game goal drought, boosting his career totals vs. BUF to 17-36—53 in 35 career games (1.51 PPG).
