The League-leading Blue Jackets (24-5-4, 52 points) also extended their franchise-record point streak to 15 games (14-0-1) and earned their seventh consecutive home win, matching a franchise record set earlier this season from Oct. 21 – Nov. 18. Sergei Bobrovsky (37 saves) pushed his personal win and point streaks to 11 and 13 games (12-0-1), respectively, to extend career highs and club records for each.

* Jared Spurgeon scored his first career overtime goal at 2:46 of the extra frame to help the Wild extend their franchise records for consecutive wins (11) and games with a point (11-0-1). At 22-8-4 (48 points), the Wild climbed within a point of the Blackhawks (22-10-5, 49 points) for the best record in the Western Conference. Devan Dubnyk (28 saves) earned his career-high ninth straight victory to establish a franchise record for most consecutive wins by a goaltender, besting the mark by Niklas Backstrom from March 14-30, 2013 (8-0-0). Dubnyk also stretched his career-high point streak to 13 games (11-0-2) and leads all goaltenders in goals-against average (1.58), save percentage (.947) and shutouts (5) this season.

BURNS CONTINUES TO LEAD THE WAY AMONG DEFENSEMEN
Brent Burns (1-1—2) scored his 10th career overtime goal at 2:46 of the extra frame to power the Sharks to their seventh win in their last eight contests. Burns leads all blueliners in goals and points this season with 14-20—34 (35 GP). Elias notes that Burns (832 GP) has scored the second-most regular-season overtime goals by a defenseman in NHL history, trailing only Scott Niedermayer (13 in 1,263 GP).

METROPOLITAN TEAMS KEEP PACE WITH SURGING BLUE JACKETS
The Penguins (23-8-5, 51 points) and Rangers (24-12-1, 49 points) each earned wins to move into second and third place in the NHL standings, respectively:

* Sidney Crosby (1-2—3) factored on three of Pittsburgh’s five goals as the Penguins improved to 10-1-2 in their past 13 contests. Crosby extended his point streak to five games (4-4—8) and leads the NHL with 25 goals this season (30 GP). Evgeni Malkin notched 1-1—2 to eclipse the 800-point milestone (310-491—801). Crosby (25-16—41) and Malkin (15-26—41) each moved within a point of Connor McDavid (13-29—42) for the NHL scoring lead this season.

* Nick Holden (2-0—2) and Derek Stepan (2-0—2) combined for all four goals as the Rangers overcame a 3-1 deficit and posted their fourth win in their last six outings.
