PAVELEC, JETS END DUCKS’ HOME STREAK
Ondrej Pavelec made 40 saves, including 15 in the third period, to help the Jets snap the Ducks’ season-opening streak of 22 consecutive home games without a regulation loss (20-1-2). The Ducks had equaled the longest such streak in the past 34 years, matching the 2008-09 Sharks, who also went 20-0-2 at home to begin the season.

* The Jets improved to 4-0-0 under head coach Paul Maurice, equaling their longest winning streak of the season (also Nov. 8-15).

* Bryan Little collected two helpers to extend his assist/point streak to five games (2-6—8).

* Mark Scheifele added an assist to move into sole possession of first place in assists among rookies (19). He also ranks fourth among first-year players with 28 points in 51 games.

LUCKY SEVEN FOR BLUE JACKETS
R.J. Umberger (2-0—2) recorded his second multi-goal game of the season to power the Blue Jackets to their seventh consecutive victory, a franchise record. The team also improved to 9-2-1 in its past 12 home games dating to Nov. 29.

* With 115 goals, Umberger passed David Vyborny for sole possession of second place on the franchise’s all-time goals list.

* Sergei Bobrovsky made 26 saves to improve to 8-0-0 with a 1.77 goals-against average, .941 save percentage and one shutout in his last eight starts dating to Nov. 29.

* James Wisniewski posted a pair of assists to extend his point streak to five games (1-6—7).

* Nathan Horton added his third goal of the season while playing in his 600th NHL game.

MAPLE LEAFS WIN SIXTH STRAIGHT
The line of Phil Kessel (2-0—2), James van Riemsdyk (1-1—2) and Tyler Bozak (0-2—2) combined for six points to lead the Maple Leafs to their sixth consecutive victory, their longest winning streak since Dec. 23, 2005-Jan. 2, 2006 (6-0-0).

* Kessel has 6-8—14 during a seven-game point streak, including six multi-point performances.

* Van Riemsdyk reached the 20-goal plateau for the second time in his career (21 G in 75 GP in 2010-11).

DEVIL OF A TIME
Seven different players scored to lead the Devils to their highest offensive output since April 10, 2010, a 7-1 victory over the Islanders. The team has recorded points in 14 of its last 18 contests (9-4-5), including seven of its past eight (4-1-3).

* Playing in his first game since Dec. 20, Damien Brunner posted a season-high 1-2—3.

* Eric Gelinas also recorded 1-2—3, his first career three-point game. He leads all rookie defensemen with 16 assists and ranks second among first-year blueliners with 25 points in 40 games.

* According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Gelinas is the second rookie defenseman in the past 23 seasons to register three or more points in a game for the Devils: Brian Rafalski collected 1-2—3 in a 3-1 victory over the Sharks on Feb. 13, 2000.

* Jaromir Jagr scored his 697th career goal and is now 11 shy of tying Mike Gartner for sixth place on the NHL’s all-time goals list.

ANDERSON, LEHTONEN SHUT THE DOOR
* Senators goaltender Craig Anderson made 34 saves to record his third shutout of the season and the 25th of his career. He also improved to 11-5-1 with a 2.28 goals-against average, .928 save percentage and two shutouts in 17 career appearances versus the Capitals, including seven straight victories.

* Stars goaltender Kari Lehtonen made 18 saves to earn his second shutout of the season and the 24th of his career, 10 of which have come in a Dallas uniform. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, he is just the third goaltender to reach double-figures in shutouts since the franchise relocated to Texas in 1993, joining Marty Turco (40) and Ed Belfour (27).

SEDIN’S IRONMAN STREAK ENDS
Canucks captain Henrik Sedin missed his first game since March 19, 2004, ending his franchise-record ironman streak at 679 games. He played nine consecutive NHL seasons without missing a game, as well as two Olympics, two World Championships and a season in the Swedish Elite League.

BLACKHAWKS, RED WINGS RENEW RIVALRY
The Blackhawks (32-8-11, 75 points) and Red Wings (21-18-10, 52 points) renew their Original Six rivalry when they meet at Joe Louis Arena on NBCSN’s “Wednesday Night Rivalry” telecast. The clubs have faced off 725 times during the regular season, with Detroit (363-265-97) holding an 823-649 edge in points (CHI: 278-354-93). Chicago, however, has won nine of their 16 all-time playoff series, including a seven-game victory in the 2013 Western Conference Semifinals in which it overcame a 3-1 series deficit for the first time in franchise history.
