JONES BLANKS BLUES (AGAIN) TO LIFT SHARKS TO 2-1 SERIES LEAD . . .
Martin Jones (22 SV) registered his second straight shutout (also 26 SV in Game 2) to help the Sharks win Game 3 and take a 2-1 series lead in the Western Conference Final.
* Jones, who became the first goaltender in Sharks history to earn consecutive shutouts in the postseason, has not allowed a goal in his last 147:43 of playing time dating to the second period of Game 1. Evgeni Nabokov holds the franchise playoff record with a 178:14 shutout streak from April 24-28, 2004.
* Jones improved to 10-5 this postseason (1.89 GAA, .927 SV%, 3 SO), including three shutouts in his last four outings (also Game 7 of SR vs. NSH). His 10 wins and three blank sheets both equal franchise records for one playoff year, set by Nabokov in 2004 (17 GP).
* Per Elias, Jones became the first goaltender on any team to record three shutouts in a span of four team playoff games since Philadelphia’s Michael Leighton in Games 1, 2 and 4 of the 2010 Eastern Conference Final vs. MTL.
