BLACKHAWKS RALLY LATE TO STUN LIGHTNING IN GAME 1
Down 1-0 with less than seven minutes remaining in regulation, Teuvo Teravainen andAntoine Vermette scored 1:58 apart to lift the Blackhawks to a 2-1 victory in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final.

* Via Elias, the Blackhawks became the first road team to post a regulation-time win via a third-period comeback in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final. Three other visiting teams have won Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final in overtime when trailing in the third period: the 1980 Islanders (4-3 OT W at PHI), 1994 Canucks (3-2 OT W at NYR) and 1999 Sabres (3-2 OT W at DAL).

* Elias also says the Blackhawks became the first team to win Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final in regulation-time when trailing while being shut out in the third period.

* The Blackhawks also staged a late third-period comeback in their last game in the Stanley Cup Final. In Game 6 of the 2013 series at BOS, Bryan Bickell (at 18:44) andDave Bolland (at 19:01) scored 17 seconds apart to turn a 2-1 deficit into a 3-2 Stanley Cup-clinching win.

* Neither Teravainen nor Vermette began the season with the Blackhawks. Teravainen, the 18th overall selection in the 2012 NHL Draft, started the campaign with the club’s AHL affiliate in Rockford, Ill., and made his season debut with the Blackhawks on Jan. 4. Vermette, an 11-year veteran, was acquired from the Coyotes prior to the 2015 NHL Trade Deadline in March.

* Teravainen (1-1—2), who posted 4-5—9 in 34 games during the regular season, registered his second multi-point playoff performance (also in Game 5 of the CF at ANA: 1-1—2). He has 3-5—8 (in 13 GP) overall this postseason, including 2-3—5 in his last five appearances.

* Elias adds that Teravainen, a 20-year-old native of Helsinki, became the first rookie to record two third-period points in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final. Since 1983, only two other rookies have collected multiple points in the opening game of the Stanley Cup Final: Penguins forward Jaromir Jagr in 1991 (0-2—2 vs. MIN) and Flyers forwardVille Leino in 2010 (1-1—2 at CHI).

* “He’s one of the most talented guys I see, watching him every day,” said teammateMarian Hossa. “But coming to this team, there are so many skilled players, they decided that instead of playing only a few minutes they put him on a minor team so he could play lots of minutes. Obviously, it’s paying off. He’s playing with such confidence. He’s growing more confident every game. He doesn’t seem to have a heartbeat. He’s so calm. He’s Finnish cold.”

* Vermette scored his second clutch goal in the past two weeks. In Game 4 of the Western Conference Final vs. ANA, Vermette recorded the winning goal at 5:37 of double-overtime in a 5-4 victory that evened the series.

* Prior to his two game-winning goals in his past five outings. Vermette had one such goal in his first 68 career playoff appearances.

* Duncan Keith posted the primary assist on Teravainen’s tying goal and also played nearly half of the game (29:15). He continues to pace all defensemen and extend career highs with 17 assists and 19 points (in 18 GP) this postseason.

* Per Elias, Keith became the first defenseman to register 17 or more assists in one playoff year since 1994, when Brian Leetch notched 23 (in 23 GP) with the Rangers.

* Keith’s 19 points also are the most by any defenseman in one postseason since 2006, when Chris Pronger tallied 5-16—21 (in 24 GP) with the Oilers.

* Keith extended his assist/point streak to five games (0-8—8), establishing a playoff career high; his 17 assists and 19 points are eight more than any other defenseman this postseason.

* Keith also continues to lead all skaters in total time on ice during the playoffs (566:19) – logging nearly 72 minutes more than the next-closest player (Stanley Cup Final opponent Victor Hedman: 494:33).

* Corey Crawford made 22 saves, including 17 straight after allowing a first-period goal. He improved to 10-4 this postseason (2.46 GAA, .921 SV%, 1 SO) and 2-0 vs. TBL this year (also 25 SV in 3-2 SO W on Nov. 11).

* The Blackhawks earned their second victory of the playoffs when trailing after two periods and first such win in regulation (2-4 overall). Their other such victory was inGame 4 of the First Round vs. NSH, when Brandon Saad scored the tying goal midway through the third period and Brent Seabrook recorded the winner at 1:00 of triple-overtime (in a 3-2 W).
