LEAGUE LEADERS SHINE ON 12-GAME SATURDAY
The League’s top scorers continued their dominance on Saturday:

* Sidney Crosby (0-5—5) matched a career-high with five helpers to take sole possession of the League lead for assists (17) and points (24). He also recorded five assists on Mar. 10, 2013 vs. NYI and Dec. 13, 2006 vs. PHI when he notched a career-high six points. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Crosby joins Peter Forsberg (2) as the only NHL players who’ve registered more than one five-assist game since Wayne Gretzky retired in 1999 with an NHL-record total of 17 games with five or more assists. Crosby now has points in 19 straight games vs. BUF (10-26—36), his longest active point streak against any team.

* Jakub Voracek (0-3—3) extended his point streak to eight games – one shy of his personal best set from Dec. 9 to 28, 2013. He has seven multi-point games this season and at least one point in 13 of 14 games in 2014-15. Voracek ranks second in the League for assists (16) and points (22).

* Tyler Seguin scored his sixth career hat trick (fifth in 94 GP with DAL) and second this season (also Oct. 14 at CBJ) to move into third for goals (10) and points (19, tie). According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Seguin is the only player to have recorded more than three hat tricks over the last two seasons.

* Playing in his 600th NHL game, Phil Kessel scored to push his point streak to six games (4-7—11) and move into a share of third in League scoring (8-11—19).

* Patric Hornqvist notched three points for the 15th time in his career (last: 2-1—3 on Oct. 18 vs. NYI) and now shares fifth in League scoring with 9-9—18 this season.

* Mark Giordano stretched his point streak to six games (4-7—11), the second longest stretch of his career (4-6—10 in nine games; Jan. 14 to Feb. 1, 2014). He leads all defenseman and shares fifth in League scoring with 5-13—18 this season (16 GP).

The Penguins have won seven straight games for the first time since Dec. 9 to 21, 2013 (7-0-0) and have matched the Blues (7-0-0; Oct. 25 to Nov. 6) and Ducks (7-0-0; Oct. 11 to 24) for the longest winning streak this season.
