LIGHTNING SURVIVE FLYERS FOUR-GOAL RALLY TO WIN OT THRILLER

The Lightning jumped out to a 5-1 lead in the third period, led by a pair of goals from Brayden Point (2-0—2), before the Flyers rallied for four consecutive third period tallies to force overtime. Anthony Cirelli notched his first career overtime goal in the extra frame to give Tampa Bay the win and catapult the club to first place in the Eastern Conference and a tie for the most points in the NHL (14-5-1, 29 points).

* The Lightning became the sixth team in NHL history to relinquish a four-goal lead in the third period and go on to win the game and the first to do so since the Stars’ 6-5 W vs. CAR on Dec. 8, 2015.

* The Flyers, who scored four goals in a 6:04 span of the third period to force overtime, became the ninth team in NHL history to rally from a four-goal deficit in the final 10:00 of regulation to tie the game.

* The Lightning tallied three power-play goals on Saturday after scoring four power-play markers against Pittsburgh on Nov. 15. Tampa Bay has scored three or more power-play goals in consecutive games for the second time in franchise history (also Nov. 8 and 10, 1995: 3 PPG each). TheLightning boast the third best power play in the NHL this season (29.7%) after ranking third in 2017-18 (23.9%).

* Two of Tampa Bay’s power-play markers came eleven seconds apart, two seconds shy of the fastest two goals in franchise history (0:09) achieved three times, with the most recent occurrence on Mar. 25, 2016 (Nikita Kucherov and Vladislav Namestnikov).

* Point recorded consecutive multi-goal games for the first time in his career (also 3-0—3 vs. PIT on Nov. 15). He is the fourth player in Lightningfranchise history to accumulate five goals in a two-game span joining Martin St. Louis (Jan. 16-18, 2014), Ryan Malone (March 29 - 31, 2012) andRob Zamuner (Nov. 19 - 22, 1997).

* Point leads Tampa Bay and ranks tied for second in the NHL with 14 goals (20 GP). This marks the ninth time in franchise history a Lightningplayer has scored 14 times in the team’s opening 20 games and the second time in as many seasons (Nikita Kucherov: 17 in 20 GP in 2017-18).

POMINVILLE’S LATE WINNER LIFTS SABRES TO FIFTH STRAIGHT WIN
Jason Pominville
(1-1—2) was one of four Sabres to record multiple points as Buffalo rallied from a two-goal deficit to extend the NHL’s longest active win streak to five contests. The Sabres’ five-game stretch is the club’s longest winning streak since an equal run from March 19-27, 2012.

* The Sabres (12-6-2, 26 points) trail only the Lightning (14-5-1, 29 points) and Maple Leafs (14-6-0, 28 points) for the most points in the Eastern Conference. The 2018-19 campaign marks the first since 2009-10 in which the team has accumulated at least 26 points through their first 20 contests (also 12-6-2, 26 points).

* Pominville, who returned to Buffalo this season after a 327-game stint with the Wild, tallied the game-winning goal against his former team with just 1:05 remaining in regulation. It marked the 11th go-ahead goal within the final two minutes of regulation this season - the Sabres are the only team to have scored two such goals in 2018-19 (also Kyle Okposo at 58:59 on Oct. 25 vs. MTL).

* In addition to the Flyers (6-5 OTL) and Sabres (3-2 W), the Red Wings (3-2 W) and Flames (4-2 W) also rallied from a multi-goal deficit on Saturday. It marked the tenth time in 2018-19 that three or more teams rallied from a multi-goal deficit to at least tie the score in the same day - the highest such total through the first 302 games of a season since 2008-09 (also 10 days).

ATKINSON, JARNKROK NET HAT TRICKS TO LIFT CLUBS TO VICTORY

Calle Jarnkrok (3-0—3) and Cam Atkinson (3-1—4) each scored three goals to improve their club’s division-leading record to 14-5-1 (29 points) and 12-6-2 (26 points), respectively. Nashville’s 29 points are tied with the Lightning for the most in 2018-19.

* Jarnkrok netted his first career hat trick while scoring a goal at even strength, shorthanded and on the power play. He became just the second player in Predators franchise history to record a hat trick in that fashion joining Scott Walker (Dec. 26, 2001 vs. COL). Only six other players since 2013-14 have scored a hat trick that included an even-strength, shorthanded and power-play goal: Mark Jankowski (2017-18), Colton Sceviour(2016-17), Mikael Backlund (2015-16), Derek Stepan (2014-15) and Steven Stamkos and Antoine Vermette (2013-14).

* Atkinson recorded the fifth three-goal game of his career to tie Rick Nash for the most hat tricks in Blue Jackets franchise history. Atkinson achieved the feat in 68 less games than Nash, needing 466 contests to Nash’s 534. In doing so, Atkinson extended his points streak to four games (6-3—9).

2017 DRAFT CLASS CONTINUES TO IMPRESS IN 2018-19 . . .
Three members of the 2017 NHL Draft class scored on Saturday to continue strong early-season runs: Filip Chytil (NYR), Michael Rasmussen (DET) and Elias Pettersson (VAN).

* Chytil, the 21st overall selection in the 2017 NHL Draft, found the back of the net for the third consecutive game as New York improved to 7-2-1 in its last 10 contests. He became the first teenager in Rangers franchise history to score in three straight team games.

* Rasmussen tied the game with 6:23 remaining in regulation as Detroit rallied to improve to 8-2-0 in its last 10 contests. Rasmussen (No. 9 overall in 2017) became the sixth different teenager in Red Wings franchise history to score in three consecutive team games. The others: Dylan Larkin, Steve Yzerman, Lane Lambert, Gordie Howe and Ted Lindsay.

* Pettersson, the fifth player to hear his name called at the 2017 NHL Draft, snapped a five-game goalless drought to become the third player inCanucks history to record 11 or more goals through his first 16 games with the franchise. Only Alexander Mogilny (15) and Greg Adams (14) tallied more in their first 16 games with the club.

. . . WHILE SEASONED VETERANS HIT MILESTONES
Henrik Lundqvist
(NYR), Claude Giroux (PHI), Matt Duchene (OTT) and Dion Phaneuf (LAK) each collected career milestones as part of Saturday’s 11-game slate:

* Lundqvist turned aside 39 shots to earn his seventh win of the season and the 438th of his NHL career to surpass Jacques Plante for sole possession of seventh place on the League’s all-time wins list. A seventh round pick (205th overall) in the 2000 NHL Draft, Lundqvist is the only goaltender selected in the fourth round or later to record more than 400 career wins.

* Giroux (0-2—2) posted a multi-point outing for the fourth time in six contests to eclipse the 700-point milestone (221-480—701 in 758 GP). He joined Bobby Clarke (358-852—1,210 in 1,144 GP), Bill Barber (420-463—883 in 903 GP) and Brian Propp (369-480—849 in 790 GP) as the only players in Flyers history to record 700 points with the franchise.

* Duchene posted a team-high 2-1—3 as the Senators scored at least six goals for the third time this season, trailing only the Lightning, Avalanche and Islanders who have each accomplished the feat four times in 2018-19. He became the second player from the 2009 NHL Draft class to record at least 500 career points (209-292—501), joining John Tavares (284-360—644).

* Phaneuf, who’s spent time with the Flames (378 GP), Maple Leafs (423 GP), Senators (154 GP) and Kings (45 GP), became the seventh player to skate in his 1,000th NHL game this season and the second to do so from the 2003 NHL Draft (Wild defenseman Ryan Suter reached the milestone on Oct. 25).

HOFFMAN, DOMI CONTINUE TO FLOURISH IN NEW THREADS
Mike Hoffman
(acquired by the Panthers on June 19) and Max Domi (traded to the Canadiens on June 15) continue to play pivotal roles for their new clubs:

* Hoffman (1-1—2) extended his career-best point streak to 15 contests (8-10—18) to become the 11th different player in NHL history to record a point streak of at least 15 games in his first season with a new team.

* Domi recorded an assist to extend his point streak to nine games (5-8—13), the second-longest active run behind Hoffman. In doing so, he boosted his season totals to 10-14—24 to become the first Canadiens player to collect 24 or more points in his first 20 games with the franchise since Odie Cleghorn in 1918-19 (24-6—30).
