MARCHESSAULT SCORES TWICE, LEADS GOLDEN KNIGHTS TO GAME 2 VICTORY
Shortly after the Jets cut their deficit to one, Jonathan Marchessault scored his second goal of the contest to propel the Golden Knights to victory in Game 2 of the Western Conference Final. When the Conference Finals/Semifinals are tied 1-1 (since 1974-75), the winner of Game 3 holds an all-time series record of 35-8 (81.4%).

* Marchessault, who established a career high during the regular season with 27-48—75 (77 GP), leads all Golden Knights players with 6-9—15 this postseason. He became the 10th player in NHL history to collect at least 15 points in his club’s first trip to the playoffs.

* Marchessault needs four goals to tie the NHL record for the most by a player in his club’s first postseason appearance, a mark set by Dave Lowrywith the Panthers in 1996 (10).

* Reilly Smith collected the primary assist on both of Marchessault’s goals to boost his postseason totals to 1-13—14 in 12 GP. He matched the NHL record for the most assists by a player in his team’s first postseason appearance, set by Igor Larionov (5-13—18) in 1994 with San Jose.

* Marc-Andre Fleury (30 saves), the NHL’s postseason wins leader among active goaltenders, earned his 71st career win in the Stanley Cup Playoffsto move into a tie with Jacques Plante for ninth place on the NHL’s all-time list. He improved to 35-17 in his career following a loss in the playoffs, including a 3-0 record in 2018. Fleury has posted an NHL-best 1.68 goals against average and a .945 save percentage in the 2018 Stanley Cup Playoffs among goaltenders who have appeared in at least five games.

* Fleury was on the ice for 60:00 in Monday’s contest to boost his career postseason total to 7,658:28, leapfrogging Chris Osgood (7,650:58) and Billy Smith (7,637:07) for the eighth-most playoff minutes played in NHL history.

NHL SOCIAL UNVEILS SECOND PLAYER POSTER
NHL Social unveiled the second in a series of four player posters for the 2018 Conference Finals, which feature a unique, illustrative look at the remaining teams in the 2018 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Monday’s poster featured Winnipeg Jets forward Mark Scheifele piloting a CF-18 Hornet, while the first release in the series highlighted the energy in Tampa through a visual of Lightning forward Nikita Kucherov. The final two posters – focusing on the Capitals and Golden Knights – will be shared on the League’s social media platforms later this week.

SNEAK PEEK AT TUESDAY'S ACTION
The Eastern Conference Final shifts to Washington as the Capitals return to Capital One Arena with a 2-0 series lead. The Capitals have won the first two games of a series on the road for the third time in franchise history and are seeking their first series win in that situation, previously losing in six games to the Penguins (1996 CQF) and Lightning (2003 CQF).

* The Tampa Bay Lightning have previously trailed 2-0 three times in franchise history and are looking to overcome the deficit to advance for the second time. Their only previous series victory after trailing 2-0 came in the aforementioned 2003 Conference Quarterfinals against the Capitals.
