Nashville Predators president Sean Henry has had it with the knocks against Nashville’s status as a hockey town by members of the Pittsburgh media.
Henry went on WNSR Nashville Sports Radio Thursday morning to discuss the Predators impressive run that has gained the admiration of national media during the Stanley Cup Final, but ended up addressing the claims against Nashville by a handful of Pittsburgh reporters.
Pittsburgh TV station KDKA has been the ringleader of the Predators hate with chief meteorologist Jeff Verszyla, who tweeted before Nashville’s Game 4 4-1 victory that he was “really getting tired of hearing about Nashville’s fans” and that “one Stanley Cup Playoffs does not make a hockey town.”
Writer Dan Kingerski, a radio personality on 93.7 The Fan and PGH Hockey Now writer, suggested that Nashville is pumping in artificial crowd noise into Bridgestone Arena....
“This is a great sports city. … I just don’t understand that moron that keeps talking about how bad Nashville is or how we pipe in music,” said Henry during the radio show.
“… He’s a schmuck, to say what it is. And there’s some other reporter quote, un-quote, I don’t know who or what he writes for. But I just don’t understand why it’s just so important to knock Nashville.”
