Morning Line- Kevin Paul Dupont

...if we’re going to continue trotting out Uncle Sam to throw out the first pitch or drop the puck, then let’s take some time now to create a song that works for all of us. One that’s relevant in 2020. One that plays to the better angels of our nature. One that is versed in inclusion, hope, trust, and equality for all. The e pluribus unum of anthems.

Obviously, not an easy one to write. But when have we had a better opportunity to hit pause and fix a song that just isn’t working for all of us?

I’m not sure we need a sports pre-game song ceremony in any case. Might not be a popular opinion, tho.

Im with you steeb.  Its a weird concept.  They dont play it before concerts or comedy shows or golf outtings or bowling alleys.  Go to a movie on post and youll see how weird it is to have to sit through the national anthem before a movie.  Just like making our kids say theboledgw of allegiance before schooo everyday.  Notice its not a staple in many adults lives, including the die hards.  Lots of weird stuff we do.

This is the only “anthem” we need before any hockey game.
